The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

According to the Metro:
"Arsenal have secretly been pursuing a move for Antoine Griezmann throughout the summer"

You can imagine how that went:

Wenger: we want to buy Griezmann

Atletico: He has a 100m release clause

Wenger: We'll give you 30m.

The silly shit started when the Leicester WankhandBandage turned us down and it's just gone down hill from there.

Honestly, just say this to yourself, and see how ludicrous it sounds;

"Leicester City player turns Arsenal move down".  Now replace the word "Arsenal" with the words "Manchester United" or "Chelsea". Would that shit happen? Would it be ALLOWED to happen??!! :x

What next? "Luton Town player turns Arsenal move down"? Anyone else? Port Vale? Accrington Stanley?

Slight (but necessary) amendment there Nick!

Virgin poster to your merry throng here.

I read we are supposedly looking at a Monaco CB called Tisserand, no idea if that is true or false, but that we face competition from Leicester and Espanyol. Again, no idea on the veracity of that.

But, it struck me, FFS a player the (once) Mighty Arsenal may be interested in could go instead to the once-in-a-lifetimers or a side forever in Barcas shadow

It's appalling it really is

I think Vardy turned us down so he could not fail. I think last season was a one off and he won't score that many again. United and Chelsea fans are not as frustrated as Arsenal fans so if it all went wrong he could of gone from hero to villain very quickly.
I don't think he has much about him but he now has an easy ride at Leicester City for the rest of his career.
That said I think Arsenal have lost our reputation of being a top top club and are now seen as a buisness in the game and that will put players off.
In truth I'm amazed we signed Ozil and Sanchez but we do pay top wages

I just wonder how much Lower can Wenger & Co take the reputation of the club, team and fans.

Had a conversation with someone whose partner works for a large clothing /sportswear manufacturer/retailer - they deal with most of the prem teams to various extents....and she has said that Arsenal as a club/Business are the most difficult to deal with because of how the supplies and pricing of said items is negotiated - Wenger even has his thumb in that particular pie.. FFS! :banghead:

Their collective approach to running a World renowned and Famous Football Club with a history that puts most other top clubs to shame is nothing short of unforgiveable - almost to the point where wenger is an out loud laughable joke - Sadly we Gooners are not amused...we are the one's having to endure this on-going nightmare.

Shameful Debacle that it is - We desperately need someone to step in and 'do something'.

A manager who can no longer coach - Yet insists his out-dated methods and approach are still relevant, who now not only coaches the team (cough cough) but now interviews his boss (Gazidis the CEO), holds the purse strings and say so for all financial matters be they imperative and indispensable to the actual football being played and the players playing it, to the choice of foods and refreshments AND the merchandise (and the prices) being sold within the clubs retail outlets. All the while making huge amounts of money from the Franchise that was once our beloved club.

Agreed 100% mate. Especially the bit about Vardy and I actually posted something similar at the time. I still think Ozil and Sanchez were most likely board signings, not Wenger signings tbh... :|

Any developments on the Joe Cole transfer?

I am 100% convinced now that even semi-decent players see coming to Arsenal as a career ending move whilst we have the :censored: in charge, what an absolute shambles our transfer dealings have become under him.

Oh well roll on last 16 humiliation et al :barscarf:

Oh yes.....the trolley dash is shaping up quite nicely. It will be a maximum of 2 points from 3 games after Saturday, and in tonight's Standard a whole host of names from Phil Jones to Kostas Minolas were being mentioned

Shit for Brains and the goons that run the club have no chance of landing Mutsafi or any signing worthy of the name so prepare yourself for a truck load of shit being dumped at the Bowl on deadline day

I would venture we have endured this on-going humiliation for at least the past 8 seasons/summers.
