anyway after over 40 years of Arsenal dominating my moods feel finally released from this burden, good luck to all you guys...i am out of it :D
Take Care Mate - See you on the far side of Wenger Out!. :barscarf:
Think Southampton on wednesday will be my last game. There's call to boycott the Sunderland game and to be honest the stadium is so soulless at the moment I going to give Everton a miss as well. Then it is just a case if he signs or not. If he does, then I'm outta here after 30 years.
If he signs - or rather they confirm and announce the contract he has already signed I too am out of here after 47years.

Should the laws of gravity be reversed, the world stop turning and he doesn't stay, then my passion will be re-kindled for both Arsenal FC and Football in general.

But I think he will stay and anyone supporting Arsenal will have to endure another 2 years ( at least) of mediocre, banal, heart-breaking losses and awful form under his utter mis-management.

Amongst Wenger biggest mistake in the last 4 years, not resigning Fabregas after being given first option was critically bad decision. Imagine the difference he would have made to our midfield in the last two seasons? Cesc feeding Alexis and Ozil. We'd have won the league last season, and put a challenge in this season.

Come on Nos89, what's the matter with you, don't you remember......"we don't need him, we've got Ramsey". :coffeespit:

Arsene knows.

Sad to say Herd, but the modern Arsenal, Wenger's Arsenal, do not want fans like you...like any of us really. They want day trippers, people there for the "experience", people who don't go to 5 games in a row then wake up to the fact that what they are actually watching is crap and they are getting ripped off. Go for the one or two game experience and you are not really bothered, you are not really a die hard fan and you are not really invested. THOSE people are the target market, who cares about a "fanbase" as long as the seats are filled...their money is the same..if not better as they tend to buy a whole bunch of crap as well to enhance "the experience" I don't think people actually realise how much damage Wenger has done. He hasn't created a new brand of football, he's created a new brand of "fan" whilst driving those who love the club, out..

Signing Fabregas would've masked the problems the same way bringing back Flamini did. Creating chances last season wasn't a major problem either as Ozil nearly broke Henry's long standing assist record. We had a big lump of shit up front who couldn't finish.

I know this too well ive seen it in plain black and white !
If you remember we had a commercial director called Tom Fox a stupid american that came to visit Singapore circa 2010 and went to see the exco from the supporters club ,so he has a few bevvies and then stands there telling us that Arsenal should be moving away from the traditional supporter base and encouraging more from Asia because they spend more in the club shop and on F+B.
Fuming but smiling I ask him to elaborate I then learn they did a survey which he had in his bag .
I waited till he went for a piss and as if by magic the report was in my hands . Twas a Long winded expensive report that said that the clubs efforts should continue be concentrated on the corporate side of life and that the club has so much excess demand they shouldn't worry about any season ticket holders in the rest of the ground if they failed to renew because the tickets would be sold at perhaps more than the St price and to people who will spend more.
He then drones on about branding in asia and partnering up with every possible product in the known world and breaking out new revenue streams blah blah blah .
He was a total cock but typical of the new regime that talks all the time about the "strong brand " rather than the famous Arsenal !

I heard them talking about Fabregas on my way in to work this morning and was thinking back when he became available again and how we had first option. I was so sure we were going to get him back but I thought this morning that Wenger probably saw Fabregas going back to Barca as a personal snub to him so would now "teach Fabregas a lesson" and not have him back. That would be so typical of Wenger, his feelings, his agenda, his needs, ALWAYS come before the clubs. He always tries to sell us this lie that he always puts the club first but he doesn't. He thinks he is one with the club so he puts his needs first. A selfish, vindictive man...

Who was in our midfield at the time when Cesc became available?

He was NEVER going to re-sign Fabregas and in some ways I can understand him .
Fabregas didnt behave very well over his departure
He claimed that Wenger had promised to let him go and when Wenger wouldn't sell him they had a very nasty fall out .
He went over Wengers head to Gazidis and to all intents and purposes went on strike refusing to go on the South east asia Tour Gazidis did the best he could but Barca knew the only place for Cesc was home hence the lower price !
Contrast this to Nasri who told them upfront he wouldn't renew his contract but was happy to play it out which wenger said ok to went on the tour and came back and was sold again by Gazidis !

I think that shows quite well why we have the club that we do. I've always maintained that the club don't want the traditional supporter anymore. I know when I go to games I get off the tube at Finsbury Park, go in the Auld Triangle for a couple, stop at a burger bar en-route to the ground and walk through the turnstile about 2.55pm. I never give them anything other than my ticket money. The fan they want are those that arrive early, spend a fortune at the concession stands inside the ground, buy programs and go to the club shop, coffee or beer at half time and then stick around for another whilst the crowds disappear. they're where the club earn the most revenue, not me. How times have changed!!

When Cesc became available again in 2014 Carzola was in the deep-lying playmaker role, with Jack Wilshere also in the mix. You could argue that Wenger has been unfortunate that those two have been injured as much over the past three years. I would argue that Cesc would have been an upgrade on both even when they were fit, and the fact that he has at times struggled to get into Chelsea's starting 11 reflects on the relative strength of the two squads.

It was not so much the fact that Wenger did not want Cesc that was revealing (his judgement is crap, as we know).....it was more that Chelsea were clearly his club of choice. For someone who professed his love of the "Barca-lite" style of Wenger's team when he was with us, he had clearly matured during his time in Spain, and now has two premier league winner medals to prove it.

From the press conference, AW rejected suggestion we will appoint a Director of Football. "As long as I'm manager, I'll decide what happens on the technical front."

Look forward to another 2 years of exactly the same crap if/when he signs the contract. There will be no changes, it is business as usual.

Wenger did intimate that he felt with Cazorla, we didn't really need Cesc. Wilshire hardly comes into it as he was almost permanently injured. But as Herd says, there was probably bad blood anyway, and Wenger is not a forgiving man.

Therein lies the point. Chelsea and Barcelona have championship winning squads whereas we have a team always struggling to punch above its weight. Whilst re-signing Fabregas would have made a difference, I don’t necessarily agree he would’ve been an upgrade on Cazorla, it would not have turned us from also-rans to championship winners. Ozil was regularly subbed at Madrid and like Fabregas, he almost certainly wouldn’t be earning a regular starting berth at Chelsea. Wenger is hopeless at rotating and once he hits a winning formula he will squeeze every ounce of performance out of it until it eventually grinds to a halt like it did in 07/08. I think he refused to re-sign Fabregas as a matter of principle possibly because of the way he behaved and forced the move to Barca. As much as I detest the arrogant prick I agree with him.
