The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Chelsea spend again: £20m on Felipe Luis to replace the mobile phone sex toy fella that used to play for us.

Real must be trying to shove him out the door on the quiet whilst publicly saying they want to extend his contract.

The players agent and our club denies any knowledge of a move, yet as stated already papers Marca included are all saying it's a done deal. :?

If they sell Kroos for not much more than they sold Luiz Gustavo the whole club needs to be investigated, probably not just Hoeness on the fiddle

Yes a bit strange as if we sign Khedira we'll pay more than that and he is in the same situation.

Henry/NB

Here's the link - def £20m, although it could be (and probably is) paper talk bollocks.

While they are investigating that, someone should take a good look at the David Luiz deal.

Before the WC, he was barely worth £15-£20million. After it, a stewards inquiry wouldn't even begin to cover it. :x

If he's anything like the last full back to be spirited away from the emerald isle to the premier league, then happy days.

Is he any good though Bazza

"At just 18 he is certainly one to watch out for, but right now he’s solely focused on obtaining a starting place in the Cork City first team."

I'd like Khedira to come if possible but if he wants too high wages then perhaps it'd be best if we looked elsewhere. The only snag I see in filling that all important DM role is finding a top quality player to do it. I don't really mind who it is as long as they're good at the job.
Te DM role is letting us down so we need to source a world class player to fill it. If it means we have to pay a substantial sum then so be it as it'll be worth it.

C'mon Wenger, get yer finger out!

Former engerland u21 Michael Mancienne close to signing for notts forest from hamburg - I remember watching him when he burst onto the scene a few years ago and thought that he looked a real player. He looked pacy, comfortable in possession and seemed that he could play either centre back or right back - hope forest is only a stepping stone for him cos he impressed me
