THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Forward to 2:02mins. "What about you, supporters saying Wenger out we've had enough of him".

Question of the season.
He's being remarkably honest in this interview.
At 0:33...

"This group has to stay together, and I think they will win the Championship."

I agree with that.

So mid-table next season, relegation into the Championship in the 2nd of Wenger's final two years, and then Tony Adams to come back and win us the Championship to get us promoted back to the Premier League!

So, having promised he would announce it in "March or April"......whose fault is that, exactly?
I am sure he said that his future was NOT affecting the players when asked in a presser a little while back.

He is getting confused by his own lies.

I had this misfortune of hearing this colossal *word censored* churning out this bollocks.

When asked why he thinks every European club would want Wenger, he said "Because he's has an encyclopaedic knowledge of European footballers and he speaks several different languages".

It was almost like a parody of a AKB argument intended for comedic purposes. It also kept pointing out that Wenger should stay until at least 2019 when the club celebrates 100 years in top flight football. Is this what it's come to? Celebrating not being relegated? Would be hilarious if Wenger got us relegated before then.

Really think the only solution to this mess is to start our own club at grass roots level. It wouldn't be the same, but none of what we're going through now is "the same" either, so who really gives a fuck?

Pathetic comments from Wenger ... but this is one of the reasons I wanted us to miss out on the CL ... so that he further exposes himself for the despicable man that is has become.

Talks about how much he loves the club but never does the one thing that is best for the club ... i.e. fucking off and never coming back !

Since February time, have you have offers from other teams?
'Look, my personal situation tonight is not so important. I care about this club. Even if I leave one day, I will love this club until the last day of my life and I want the club to do well. That's all I care about tonight. It's not my personal situation. It's just how well the club responds next season.'

Think the word he is looking for is NO

Sums up our club that again we are talking about 4th place as the benchmark which we did or didn't quite achieve.

The headline of this season shouldn't be that we missed out on CL football. It should be that we failed to challenge for the title and finished a colossal 18 points off the leaders.

Whoever the fucking manager is next year I don't give a shit about closing the few points to Liverpool or City. I care about closing the massive gap between us and the champions.

I went to watch FC United of Manchester play FC WInterthur in Switzerland a couple of years ago, and was mightily impressed.

There's a video of the game, done by the Club, called the True Spirit of Football.
Sadly in german, and mainly about FC United, but there's a couple of good bits.
Watch from 1:27 for the comment on Glazer, and then 10:15 in the video, the players coming over after the game and singing with the fans.
10:43 in the video is the Libero Bar, which is inside the Ground, and stays open well into the night with DJ's and all sorts of mentalness.
On that night the Champions League Final was played. It was "on" on a big screen, but hardly anyone watched it. That was a good, very different night.

In fact FC Winterthur is a great little club in Switzerland, and I enjoy going there when my team's not playing.

Absolutely right mate.

I thought when Wenger mentioned in his interview that we ''were only 1 point away '' that no, you were 18 points away you :censored:

But he's actually very good at it, because that is EXACTLY what his fans want to hear.
He has got them conditioned.

They hear it and they start to salivate

He is a very devious little git and he's not going anywhere.
Next season he will be there with a "director of football" appointed, and then after that has gone tits up he will have had time to invent a job for himself "overseeing" the new Manager in some capacity.

We are never going to get rid of him from this Club.

He will still be getting wheeled out on some special life-support system well into the 22nd Century.
