I think Cesc has, compared to many in the present era (Tevez, Rooney, Nasri etc), conducted himself fairly well and I don't hold it against him for being interested in a return to his hometown club.
I also think the club are right to take the '40 million take it or leave it' stance. He's got a long-term contract and there's no pressure on us to sell. I'd be disappointed if we sold him for less.
The Nasri situation is obviously more pressing.
If we got 60 mil for the two and then spent it I'd be happy enough.

Thumbs fucking up.Henry Norris 1913 wrote:Cesc has conducted himself inpeccably in all fairness , and served us for seven years. He deserves to be respected by us when he goes, unfortunately some of us don't have the class.
I'm sure I've said this before. He had his greatest conversation ever with Wenger at the end of last year. He was convinced to stay as greatness was just round the corner and things would change.
Nothing did. It got fucking worse.
He now wants to leave for real and won't be swayed by any bullshit that comes out of the managers mouth. Just like an ever increasing number of fans. However he has said next to nothing about it. Not used the press as a tool to force things through.
I like Fabregas as a footballer and as a human being. I wish him well and I will keep a keen eye on his career no matter where he goes.
I fucking love that little man.
Ya I really do feel for him being unsettled and all
He is now virtually refusing to work - but he will pick up his pay cheque come the end of the month. He'll pick up more this month than the average guy makes in 10 years.
Tell Barca to cough up or fuck off.
Its as boring as Martys threads at this stage

FFS there is a thread for that

I think the problem that Cesc has is that on the one hand he quite clearly is tempted in joining the team that him and his family have supported and they also happen to be the best team in the world; but on the other hand he is never going to turn around and disrespect the club by demanding to be sold and making ultimatums such as refusing to play if we don't let him go.
Add in the fact that Barca refuse to pay what he is worth and are trying to pry him away from us on the cheap and we have a very bad situation where Cesc is torn as he would not say no to joining his boyhood club but has too much respect for his current club to force a transfer.
Although this situation isn't at all ideal, it is a lot better than a situation where Cesc would be holding the club to ransom/slagging the club off in the papers/ doing anything to force a transfer. In reality Cesc, despite being courted by the best team for the past few years, has behaved with the utmost respect towards the club and seems to understand that we won't let him go unless we are offered serious money. For that reason i hold no grudges against Cesc at all and only hope that Barca can't put up the money so that we have our best player with us next season.

Cesc wants to join only one team the club of his birth and his upbringing. He could join any top team in the world but wont.I am amazed how some are writing his Arsenal career off.He has been our best player for the last 6 years.A player of his quality deserves to be winning leagues and CL's and he wont be doing that under Wenger. He is only doing what another great Arsenal player Liam Brady did 31 years ago.He is leaving to win trophies
totally agree with donaldo + mm99.
I've become quite attached to cesc
, he was passionate and was clearly quality, but the time seems right to move on. But we shouldn't be giving barca freebies, their turnover is massive and one way or another they can raise the cash.
We know he could easily move to any team in the world and demand virtually any wage he wanted (at city) but he wants to go home, and realised that arsenal arent going for the biggest/any prizes at the moment.

Cesc didnt have his best season through injury but still had 14 assists in the league while the new darling of the media Wilshire had 3.Some Gooners are just thick if they call Cesc a *word censored*. Cashley and Greedy who left for money are *word censored* not Cesc.If he leaves which seems likely i wish him well
