Of course how could I be so stupid. I should go back to that last player we held out for until he became free as the blueprint....our very own non-scoring CF, Mary Anne Chamakhkiwomya wrote:It means we get him for FREE! in the summerSteveO 35 wrote:And how on earth can this even come into fucking play? It is here and now that we need him - repeat Mr.Wenger....we are one RvP injury away from oblivion this season. Chamakh and Park are utter, utter shit and TH14 goes 'home' at the end of February. So how the hell will it help signing Kalou in July exactly ?Wengerball wrote:I know its been mentioned about Kalou but there was the guy from Sky Sports, Dhamesh Seth, that runs their stories on the transfer window.
He says that the Kalou deal is definitely a goer- the only thing that is left to be resolved is whether he joins now or in the summer.

I get what your saying but, as Im sure you've already guessed, we are squabbling over the fee involved. Kalou only has 6 months left on his deal so it obviously appeals to the GIC to not pay any transfer fee .SteveO 35 wrote:And how on earth can this even come into fucking play? Same old Arsene when it comes to penny pinching with £50m in the bank

Granted but that kalou stench just doesnt seem to go away and we all know wenger has a fondness for african players and a liking for buying cheap and kalou fills both

you're right chippy, worrying about signings that may never happen is useless and will only make us angrier.Chippy wrote:Calm down guys. 99.9% of the rumours about us in the transfer window turn out to be shite. Earth calling Chippy! Salmon Kalou:
1. Cheap (almost free)
2. French-African
3. Shit
4. Rivals cast-off
Seriously the surprise would be Wenger NOT signing him!!!

I'd happily take Ba at his buyout price, whether it's 5m or 10m. I know he'd be away for the ACON but he'd be an excellent buy for the next few years & not a sticky plaster / bargain bin rubbish signing like most of the ones we've made the last few years. There'd also be the added value of preventing him joining one of our rivals.
Sadly what I semi expect is that he'll join the spuds who'll then get rid of Defoe who we'll then loan / sign on a free as a panic buy on the last day of the summer transfer window.
A proper LB is also a must buy but I think we'll go the bargain basement route & end up with 3 very average LB's when all we need is 1 good one, also think we'll wait on a center-mid until Wilshere is back & then re-assess what we need over the summer (not that I completely agree with that but I think that's what will happen).

Dont be silly- Defoe is a striker who scores goals, theres no way Arsene would ever bring him in.fadidaeus wrote:I'd happily take Ba at his buyout price, whether it's 5m or 10m. In fact were it to happen that would be the best bit of business Wenger had done in the striker position since RVP signed!!Wengerball wrote:Dont be silly- Defoe is a striker who scores goals, theres no way Arsene would ever bring him in.fadidaeus wrote:I'd happily take Ba at his buyout price, whether it's 5m or 10m. My sources in the field tell me that after seeing this video, Manchester City is prepared to offer Arsenal 120 million for a record breaking transfer

Apparently Kalou is Gervinho's best mate. They went to the same training place in Ivory Coast. All of which makes me think it may happen. But not now if he's going to be free in 6 months' time. That would be irresistable to Arsene and Ivan. Kalou's better than Chamakh but he's not ever going to be top class is he.
Assume that the other Suarez story is just rubbish then? Sorry if that's on here somewhere as haven't read all the previous pages

I think the Ivory Coast only have one football pitch and it's owned by the same company as EVERY player seems to have come from the same outfitbewareofthegooner wrote:Apparently Kalou is Gervinho's best mate.
