WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I really cant comment on all the shite that has been posted on this thread....but lets look at it, walcott how many times has a theo turn of pace, or inspirational moment got us 3 points. How many times did fabregas do that?

Theo isnt the finished article, dont pay attention to interviews really anymore.

But some of the critisism is so ott.

Ok and what is this 'finished article' going to look like? Is he going to miraculously learn how to control a football on his 26th birthday? Is he suddenly going to learn how to use a bit of skill and strength to beat his full back?

And dont give me all the "he should be playing through the centre" shite, you need touch and strength just as much as pace and finishing when playing as a striker and the lad is weak as fuck both mentally and physically.

Get rid, he'd do well at Villa

So you say you're shocked at the figure given but also unable to give a figure that is acceptable to you? I could be wrong but it sounds to me like either you don't really know much about football or are unable to construct an argument or debate and instead simply rant!

According to opta RVP has had 119 shots in 33 league appearances this season which is just over 3.6 shots per game - not a huge improvement on Walcott's supposed target - is that shocking as well???
The point is that "oh well, I've got my two crosses and had a couple of shots today so I'm happy" is not the way an elite player should be thinking, he shouldn't be happy unless he has won every game he plays.

Villa is his level, we should be aiming for players with a winning mentality and a pair of bollocks.

To me it seems Walcott only ever plays well against teams who have a high line. He will have a good game against the Chavs on Saturday because they will push up and give him some space to run into. With all the years he's been playing at this level it astounds me that he still hasn't worked out what to do against teams who drop deep, all he did last night (and against most other lower teams at home) is run into the corner as he has no other ideas :(

Now you are making it up - How do you know he thinks that? You haven't posted anything other than bollocks in this thread.

Did last night's performance look worthy of £100k per week. Figueroa and Beusejour had him well and truly sussed out.

He was worse than Ramsey who seems to be the one copping all the stick

we are discussing priness walnut on this thread. sorry but last night was a typical walnut performance. he gets the ball at his feet and the first thing he looks for is a pass inside. i could go on about his limitations but others have already done that.

the fact that some people are happy to increase his pay based on what they have seen over six years is frankly a big concern. he's a no tick pony and is laughing at us all.

Have to bde honest and say that no other thread on here lately has depressed me as much as this one - I find it amazing, embarassing and baffling how any sane minded Gooner could even think about giving this guy a pay rise based on what he has done over the last 6 seasons  Nearly all fans complain about how disportionate our wage bill is and yet some think that paying a squad/impact sub player like walnut (cos that is all he is) 80k per week is good financial management and that absolutely astounds me. If a player doesnt have the necessary ball skills and intelligence to play at the top level at his age and after spending 6 seasons at the club then he never will and people need to accept that - he may improve in some area's but he will not reach that top level.

If a club, any club, came in with a 20m bid or higher in the summer then we should absolutely bite their hands off but seeing as our manager cannot judge a player then I am expecting a new 10 year 150k per week deal for the brainless clown     :banghead:

yes he was poor last night - the Wigan players did a good job on him.

he was due a bad game though - remember that he almost single handedly won the game at Wolves for us.
dont worry he will return and show super quality v Chelsea
