I'm hoping and praying this will turn out to be a tottingham style "Mind The Gap" type comment, steeped in pre-emptive wankology! :D

But seriously, I make you laugh? I'm here to fuckin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?

Oh yeah, I remember now, there’s a cricket match on today; England progress nicely to 155 – 3. Root has 67 and Bairstow 20.

Sorry mate - I'll get my arse in gear.

England accumulating nicely; Aussie are throwing pies. Root's into the nineties.......

Root moves on to his century to really put the boot in to Australia, so to speak. To add to the Aussie’s anguish he would have been out from an earlier lbw shout but Oz neglected to review. They really are spent here.

England 230 – 3; Root 101, Bairstow 60.

267 – 3 Root has 120 and Bairstow 73.

Aussie just want to go home now, and Root has just hoyed Lyon into the stands for 6. :barscarf:

My day 5 ticket has as much chance of being used as this match does of, er, going to day 5.

Wicket!

Bairstow goes for an excellent 74 clipping a shot off his legs in the air and straight to Rogers, who juggles the catch.

He'll be pissed off with that dismissal and................

England are putting in Mark Wood as a night watchman? There's not long left to play today but still.....

Close of play: England 274 - 4; Root 124, Wood 2.

Play finishes on day one of a once-in-a-generation test match. England are the equivalent of 4-nil up at St. James’ Park; and we all know how that finished, don’t we? Er, scratch that actually.

England, even England, cannot lose this match and the Ashes will return home barring an unprecedented disaster.

Magnificent stuff. :barscarf:
