Just seen our second goal again, sublime composure by Campbell to keep the ball and thread it through the eye of a needle for Giroud to slot home.
Can all those that slagged off Campbell come on here for a public flogging . I question any football fan that doesn't rate a player who has excelled in the world cup. The quality was always there.

Just remind me how much he shone in the world cup and how many goals he scored again
I wont slate campbell cos he just aint good enough and that is not his fault, but to talk up his quality based on a result against a greek side is frankly clutching at straws and is up there for one of the worst "one good game = top quality player" statements I have ever heard
Btw, isn't campbell a striker ? If so why is his quality not getting him game time up front ?

Sorry mate but his ONE World Cup goal does not elevate him to some sort of special treatment.
He has been consistently turd and had a great game (I hear) against a side who he is familiar with and are probably more about his level. He pilfered an unremarkable 8 goals on loan in Greece to add to his paltry 7 in 80 games from his other loan spells - he is just another one of Wengers failed experiments.

WTF! Did you actually watch the world cup. He was more than a goalscorer he was pissing on pretty much every teams defence that he came up against!
If you want to look at stats TH14 scored only 20 goals in 5 seasons at Monaco. Granted he was a winger then, but in a modern set up so effectively is Joel Campbell Pretty blinkered analogy imo especially if you didn't see the game yesterday. Campbell is 23 and Wenger must have seen something in him to persist.

would say Monaco at home last year is well up there as well

I don't think Campbell is the required quality for The Arsenal, But this is not the night to knock him, he is showing improvement TBF....and he gave everything last night for the team, and for that deserves credit, worked his bollox off, if only some of the others had that attitude...thinking of Walcot and Chamberlain

If last August you'd have told me I'd make that statement this season I'd have assumed I'd finally being committed.
Honestly thought Chamberlain would push on and have a great season, but he has regressed badly and seems to be missing confidence, touch and pace....he needs to sort himself out, but not in the first team

Everyone to their own but I have to say I'm amazed that people slate him so much. He is new to the team after struggling to find his place.
Whether Wenger fancied him or not early on is immaterial, he has fought hard, at a number of different cubs on loan, to get where he is today. He works hard for the team, does a lot of tracking back and as we have seen recently has set up a number of goals with some beautiful passes.
Give the bloke a chance, he can only grow into the team and get better and on his performances so far and the confidence he will get, I have no doubt he will.
He may not be an Henry but when Henry first came he looked like a little boy lost.
I think Campbell is a great little player.

Agreed. Great performance but lets not forget why we needed that result last night - 3 really shit performances from players and manager..................................
there is no way in this earth at the present time that Campbell is world class, how ever give I will give credit were its due and since he has got a run in the team you can see he is starting to settle in a lot more. His pass for the second goal was outstanding and his workrate is getting better with every game. Hopefully last nights display will encourage the lad to kick on a bit more and make a stamp on his place in the team
So what did last night tell us?
a) Despite having obvious limitations, Giroud is a tryer, and you have to give him credit for that.
b) Olympiakos are a little inferior to West Bromwich Albion and Norwich.

I agree with some of that, he's a good squad player, his attitude is spot on, lets see how he develops might surprise us all

Are you basing the comparisons of WBA and Norwich against Olympiakos on just our games against them?
