THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The Huddersfield manager would be a great replacement for wenger. He's worked wonders at the club, if he gets them into the PL that would be an achievement bettering Leicester's title win. After all, the last manager we got from Huddersfield didn't turn out too badly for us.

All speculation, I would take another year of Wenger if it meant getting rid of the bigger problem, he would be given all the money that he has always used as the lack of as an excuse, the infamous 'financial doping', so he would either buy top players and win the league or at least get very close or he'd be sacked next summer.

Under Kranky we will either keep Wenger regardless of how s**t we do or we'll replace him with a cheap second rater like Marco Silva or someone from Germany probably, I think some people are so fixed on Wenger that they are missing the bigger issue, I would rather we got shot of the bigger issue then Wenger will shoot himself without the excuses and we can move on quickly rather than be stuck with an absantee owner who doesn't give a toss.

And before anyone says about the £100 he spent last summer, we are still not truly competing on wages and United spent £200M+ last summer so Wenger can still use this excuse to some extent, if we have Usmanov he has no excuse for failure anymore.

As I've said before if Kranky gets Allegri/Simeone or someone of that calibre I take it all back but who honestly believes that will happen?, his US teams are s**t so why would he give a toss about some "foreign franchise".

It's all becoming incredibly boring and tiresome isn't it ? To the point where you can't really be bothered to speculate anymore. The Club are actually brilliant with their psychological warfare, beating us into submission, so that we're too numb to care, no matter what crap they dish up after their sham of a board meeting.

They could give Wenger a fucking 5 year contract and they'd be no significant rebellion. In fact, it would kill any remnants of dissent, as the remaining old school Gooners would decide to fuck off for good.

Two more years coming up, with some cosmetic "changes" to the management structure, which will make no material difference to anything, because Wenger will insist that he remains in full control of everything. A DoF puppet will be put in place, to pick up a million a year for fiddling with himself, but these ineffectual changes will actually play right into Wenger's hands. We all know that the next two years will be a disaster and mark my words, if there's a puppet DoF place, Wenger won't think twice about hanging the blame right on the poor bastard. Then the akb will tell us that we would have won the league if the Club hadn't interfered with Wenger's management structure.

All so fucking predictable. :banghead: :banghead:

I'm not sticking up for Kroenke, but it was a little bit more than just a hundred quid last year, just to be fair!

Hello all,

Brighton fan here. Obviously delighted to be in the Prem, even if we are expecting a few hammerings along the way and looking forward to a trip to the Emirates next season (new ground for me).

I can see this thread is generally people who are Wenger Out - where do you see yourselves finishing next season if he remains in charge?

Yeah same, probably 6th until Usmanov buys into Everton then it will be down to 7th the following season. Then the club will sell it as remarkable league position grouping to finish between 2nd and 7th for 25 years!, incredible stuff!.

We'll have no Champions League to distract us, and with the £200m worth of super-super talent that's coming this summer I think the sky is the limit.

I really think we can win ( or get very close ) to the big one next season.

Yes, I can see us challenging very strongly for the 4th place Virtual Trophy.

One Arsene Wenger!

But probably 6th.

And Europa League knock-out stage, first round.

Yes and we should all be grateful, in the face of all this "financial doping" that we can still make top 6, Spurs and Liverpool being significantly less rich is a lie as well they must have fiddled the books, also you have cheaper tickets now, nothing to do with worry about lack of demand, just we are so genuinely caring about our custom... err supporters.

:blah:

Honestly though I can't understand people renewing whilst there is still a good chance Wenger will be there next season.. I mean are they masochist's?!.

:?
