Holding midfielder, back up keeper and centre half now required.....is he gonna do it ?
Keeper done (Ospina), holding midfielder one of Schneiderlin or Khedira, center half depends on TV staying or going.

So if he stays we wont be signing another centre back ? We will go into this season with 1 back up centre back and he has missed massive chunks of the last 2 seasons
If TV stays Wenger will likely promote someone from the reserves (Hayden or Ajayi) to 4th choice CB. I don't see a new established CB coming in unless TV goes.

ospina is not a done deal, and theres no guarantees the club will sign a dm which is crucial.

ATM I think a CB is a bigger priority than even DMC. We were somewhat fortunate with injuries in that dept last season, especially with only the 3 cbs. Also I am not convinced with Merty, as he is too slow and forces us to play deep which is a nice change to the suicidal defending of years past but we need.

I would go for Lovren. He has settled in the prem and looks more than decent.

Southampton are demanding a king's ransom for Lovren which is understandable as they've already recouped £55m this year but lost 3 players and you can't rule out Pochettino having his eyes on a few more. Our two CBs were over the course of the season outstanding last year, we were lucky with injuries and need another option even if Vermaelen goes but I've not really heard an Arsenal fan on either side of the Wenger side suggest that we have a good enough option at DM, surely a 4th-choice (emergency) CB isn't more important than that?

I'd like us to look at John Stones. None of our 3 CBs are younger than 28.

At this stage in numerous other windows we would have killed to have done this business already. I am quite bullish that we will see at least another significant transfer to come.

Having said that - I want Toure - yeah yeah his wages are high but he IS an awesome player and appears unsettled and would make us title favorites. I also want Pogba and I still want El Sharawaay and I'm happy with Chezny.

Just watched this interview (on Pravda) with Theo - and when he was asked about the signing of Sanchez...he spoke about his skills, youth (same age as Theo) and pace....and then said something along the lines of 'with him on one flank and me on the other, teams are not going to like playing against Arsenal next season'...I wonder if he knows what position wenger is planning to play Sanchez then? :?
I called it.

Sanchez will play on the left with Theo on the right. Wenger will sign a real CF.
If only Theo was half the player HE thinks he is & could stay fit we may not need to buy another forward. Chris Waddell's comment years ago about Theo's lack of a football brain still looms large in my mind. I agreed with Waddell then & I do now. Theo's a liability. Sell him & move on.

Keep dreaming.

He's drumming up all this noise in order to better his current wages of 240k per week (Arsene would never condone such a thing - increased spending spending power or not), or move to Barcelona.

Agreed it's a long shot, would be ideal though. Having said that I'm surprised we aren't sniffing around Pogba - or maybe we are.

I can see TV being back up for any backline spot - he could also possibly become a good DM but not sure about the times he would need to play with his back to goal when we are playing out. We probably do need another CB as we had to use Sagna on occasion and Debuchy won't be able to. We won't get another forward - that's a given. With Theo, and Ox back and Giroud, Alexis and probably young Campbell as well as Ozil/Carzola/Ramsey it is not like we don't have a lot of options. The question is Wilshere - can he reignite into a DM? He's certainly well down the AM pecking order now.

In my view, with everyone fit, we have more than adequate offensive options. We do however lack defensive depth and probably some world class level players in that area.

One very good signing and a decent one. Well done so far Wenger.

Just to cap it off with a CB (or 2 if Verms leave), CDM, GK and a CF (doubt this)

I think Wenger will play this:

OG as CF
Sanchez - LAM
OZ11 - CAM
Theo - RAM
Aaron and new CDM

So it would seem that it's Santi who is most 'affected' by Sanchez' purchase and not Theo or OG

I doubt he will buy a center forward after spending so much one Sanchez. Matter of fact Yaya will get some games as CF too. I still think we should offer 27 Mil for Jackson Martinez.

CB - Fabian Schar
CDM - Bender/Javi Martinez, Gustavo, Schneiderlin. In that order

Hopefully Ospina comes home.

Peace

Waddle is full of sh*t,typical half witted northern tw*t. Hansent reiterated the football brain comment at the time and last week apologised saying it was wrong as the player has improved.

Noticed you seem to have a hard on for getting rid of Walcott. He doesn't have a trick but has an incredible amount of pace and a very good eye for goal and his cut backs to the oppos penalty area are good. To get a player like him would cost us £25-30million in today's market plus his wages.

Yaya Toure is great as a rampaging box to box CM,but he is essentially a physically imposing Rambo. I watched him a lot last season just to see his movement and for the wages and transfer fee, it would be a waste of money. He is a liability defensively. If you don't believe me check out how often his loss of the ball leads to a counter attack from the opposition.

One of our goals in the 6-3 was directly as a result of him losing the ball,I think it was to Rambo.

He does it a lot. In the WC, he did it quite a few times. He only works as a DM against weaker opposition. He needs a more disciplined DM next to him.

Don't think we will get a DM and I don't think we'll let TV go. Probably do Sagna. Probably still end up with Remy when he realises that with his questionable off field behaviour no one will pay him 85k a week. We are not all as F**king stupid as twitchy.

Hayden and Ajayi are not ready but should be shunted out of the u21s to training regularly with 1st team.

Ajayi was highly rated when we got him so there is absolutely no point in him sitting his a**email in the reserves. I'd send him on loan to Palace for half the season. If he doesn't learn anything there, then get rid but I think he would.
