Wenger Out protest thread
Re: Wenger Out protest thread
Protests didn't ultimately work last season mainly because the pundits & media were still supporting Wenger as a well as belittling the protesters. The tide is now turning folks - hardcore AKBs are turning, and if we fail to net improve the squad when the transfer window closes the shits gonna hit the (AKB) fan! Let's get some momentum going!

I do not believe in all this "if I do not attend then someone will take my place "
That attitude is quite frankly pathetic.
Stand up for what you believe in and then change might happen
There are 40k season ticket holders and over 80k on the waiting list. A significant proportion are completely apathetic. If you know a way we can get every single one of them to give up their ticket, let's hear it.
Re: Wenger Out protest thread
I don't think anyone was under any illusion that the protests alone were going to be enough to shift Wonga. He has 9 lives and we've already eliminated a couple with the protests.biglunn wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2017 8:44 pmProtests didn't ultimately work last season mainly because the pundits & media were still supporting Wenger as a well as belittling the protesters. The pundits and media still supported Wenger because the fans at home games still stuck up for him. The media and fans would throw him under the bus if the fans cut the umbilical cord.biglunn wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2017 8:44 pmProtests didn't ultimately work last season mainly because the pundits & media were still supporting Wenger as a well as belittling the protesters. Is it anymore pathetic than believing a significant amount will boycott?Gunner Rob wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2017 8:33 pmQuite right Munce - the only way to get the club back is to not attend.

Ask yourself why do the protests fail? It is because you cannot rely on significant numbers joining in. So why do you then think people will boycott?
As it has been said time and time and time again, anything that involves people having to do something is doomed to fail.
Re: Wenger Out protest thread
Sky will be filming at the Emirates tomorrow apparently for their transfer deadline day bollocks. The joke's clearly on us. Maybe some useful sod can tell them we don't give a toss whether Wonga signs anyone or not.

Do you still believe in santa clause and the tooth fairy, cos they are more real than this mythical season ticket waiting list - 3 seasons in a row I was contacted by the box office and offered a chance to buy a season ticket, and each time I knocked them back and told them to contact me again when wenger fcuks off. Don't know if you know this, but the rules for season ticket waiting list is that if you refuse a season ticket when the club contact you, then you will be put back down to the bottom of the waiting list again - how does that match up with the fact that they rang me for 2 more seasons after turning them down the first time ? Reality is that the waiting list might still be there, but it is nowhere near 80k on it, and the vast majority of those on it are turning down the offer of a season ticket as things stand cos nobody wants to sign up for this shit.
Also to clarify, I am not suggesting that people give up their season tickets, but I do think that getting a sizeable crowd to leave their seat empty for a home game (not turn up and not sell it for that game either) shouldn't be a big sacrifice for genuine fans to make - pick a game that is on tv if it helps, and either go to the boozer and watch it with mates, or stay home and watch it with the family, cos you will still see the game but also be sending a massive message to the club and the rest of the world that we are no longer willing to put up with this shit

Re: Wenger Out protest thread
I think we've had the discussion before. The waiting list is a money making scheme and more join every season. I work with someone who has been on the list for 3years and is yet to be offered one. The club has introduced a new scheme where you can now join the list for up to 3years I think for £15 or so. You can always ring them and ask for one as long as you're willing to pay a premium rate for it. At the risk of repeating myself, cheapest tickets always get offered to waiting list and they don't become available very often. If you give up your ST, make sure you ask for Silver membership at least because the *word censored* will eventually fuck off and it will be like gold dust again.augie wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2017 10:16 pmGeneral wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2017 9:08 pmWhat is pathetic is unrealistic proposals.Gunner Rob wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2017 8:33 pmQuite right Munce - the only way to get the club back is to not attend.

Some of you need to come down to the stadium and try and put your ideas into practice and see how far you get. No offence but you are being naive if you think a significant number of fans are going to give up their expensive hobby of watching this shower of shit for the sake of a protest. Even the long queues outside the gates because of bag searches is not deterring them. They will arrive in their droves every matchday, win draw or lose. The apathy is real and there aren't many die hard fans within that soulless bowl anyway.
Re: Wenger Out protest thread
This certainly tallies with what I've heard about aggresive (desparate) tactics from the club, even if that 80K is real, which I'm not convinced about, only a fraction will actually think yes lets spend £1,200 quid or whatever to see the slop that is being served up right now, don't they auto enroll you as a red/silver member?, I suspect it is much more appealing to just sit on a red or silver membership and pick or choose an odd game than sign up for a grands worth of sh*t anyway!.augie wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2017 10:16 pmDo you still believe in santa clause and the tooth fairy, cos they are more real than this mythical season ticket waiting list - 3 seasons in a row I was contacted by the box office and offered a chance to buy a season ticket, and each time I knocked them back and told them to contact me again when wenger fcuks off. Look I know my views sound naive, I appreciate that. If it makes me sound a c*nt on here then so be it. Yes I know it will be very difficult to achieve.NickF wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2017 9:22 pmIs it anymore pathetic than believing a significant amount will boycott?Gunner Rob wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2017 8:33 pmQuite right Munce - the only way to get the club back is to not attend.

Re: Wenger Out protest thread
Hey all,
Can't attend matches, but I wanna do what I can to get some change at AFC and remove the unholy trinity if Kroenke, Gazidis and Wenger..
I've stopped attending matches (about 5 years ago now when I realised Wenger was no longer the man) and I do not buy any AFC merchandise). But, I want to do more as I am sick to the back teeth of these criminals.
So ..., if needed (as a designer type;) I offer to design and produce artwork that can be used to create banners.
It's a small thing but I'd like to contribute to the cause.

Re: Wenger Out protest thread
This a Golden Opportunity for any Gooners living Locally to go along with the Wenger Out Banners etc ...
The fact that no one will be bought...and that the Fans are calling for the cun.ts head already will not go un-noticed by the medja.
Also, for those saying the protests did not work, or have any affect - is in-correct. yes the protests were attended by low numbers and were frowned upon by all the wankyAKB's - But, They DID contribute to the Lord Sith getting well pikey, as well as help bring our plight (and wenger's utter incompetence) into the media spotlight far more than it ever has before.
We simply have to ensure we build on last seasons Excellent Work.
#WENGEROUT.

Re: Wenger Out protest thread
If people want to be treated like mugs and continue to feed the club, then you are free to do so. But don't come on here moaning about it! The only way things will change is if Kroenke, Gazidis and Wenger are broadcasting league matches in an empty stadium for a few weeks. I won't be there. I'm boycotting the whole season to make my pointGunner Rob wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2017 3:52 amLook I know my views sound naive, I appreciate that. If it makes me sound a c*nt on here then so be it.
