The 2015 Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

(c) You can win this league with a world class strike force at the expense of a miserly defence - see victims FC pre the slippy G incident.

About Kokorin from F365
An Evolving Story
At 5.28pm on Monday afternoon, Russian media outlet Gazeta.ru put a snippet on their website which translates as the following: 'Forward Moscow "Dynamo" Alexander Kokorin close to the transition to the London "Arsenal". This "Gazeta.ru" said a source familiar with the situation.'

No name for the source, no further information and no detail. Just a throwaway line.

By 2.57pm on Tuesday (they are slow off the mark), the Metro report that 'Arsenal are reportedly close to completing a deal for Dynamo Moscow forward Alexander Kokorin before the transfer window shuts'.

By 7.00am on Wednesday, the Daily Star claimed that 'Arsenal are on the brink of signing Russian striker Alexander Kokorin'.

By 9.11am on Wednesday, the Daily Telegraph had taken the bait.

'Well, today we are told that the Gunners are close to completing a deal for Dynamo Moscow forward Aleksandr Kokorin. We are told that sources in Russia say Arsenal have taken the lead for Korkorin.'

You were 'told'? Or you read the same throwaway claim as we (and the Metro, who you even mention) did?

I would have liked a good centre half, another defensive midfielder and a top striker.
But from the options I provided I would like C, at least it might spare us the agony of watching Giroud let us down in matches we make enough chances to win easily.

We work day and night, 24/7, searching high and low, and finally after months of exhaustive searching, Chauncy Wenger seems to have found one of those rare and elusive "super quality" players who are better than what we already have.

And who is this superstar you ask? Is it Benzema? Cavani, Zlatan maybe? No, it's the almighty Aleksandr Kokorin of Dynamo Moscow of course! Highest goal return in any single season? 10.

But Wonga NEVER completes the sentence......when he says he is searching for 'Super top top quality', he leaves off the 'for less than 10m' part of the sentence!!
Fact is, he won't sign anyone better than Giroud otherwise Giroud won't get a game, just after getting a huge wage rise! So look forward to a very very average player signing 5 mins before the window shuts!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
