Yeah, got him in my dream team. Pretty sure he lost me points today though.augie wrote:GunnerDude wrote:Oh also watch out for Simon Kjaer 21yr old CB plays for Denmark and Palermo.
Kjaer was outstanding imo.....would def like to see him play for The Arsenal![]()
Commentators mentioned "confirmed interest" in him from both Manc clubs though so no chance of us getting him I suspect.

Well Australia certainly did their part for raising the goals-per-game average.augie wrote:I know that it is relatively early days but this world cup is absolute shite at the momentEven the attacking based teams like holland dont seem to be that committed to going forward hence the woeful shortage of goals

Most of the football’s been abysmal. Still reckon the ball’s playing it’s part in that, alongside the negative tactics etc. The wanky pundits keep talking about whether or not it swerves in the air (it doesn’t) but that’s not the issue with it. Every game I’ve seen so far there’s been about 5x as many overhit passes as you’d usually see & countless shots ballooned well over the bar. The ball bounces about a mile in the air & seems to speed up once it hits the turf, so any crossfield pass or ball into the channel just runs away from the player half the time.augie wrote:I know that it is relatively early days but this world cup is absolute shite at the momentEven the attacking based teams like holland dont seem to be that committed to going forward hence the woeful shortage of goals

Totally agree with you re the cross field passes - some of them may not be superstars but most of them are quality players and it is no coincidence that almost all cross field passes fly out over the far sideline
