Thought the away support today was class today , The players couldn't have asked for more really . In gratefulness , they lost to a mediocre united squad once more . Its weird that i actually feel i love the club more everyday but the players less everyday . Please flog them all off to the championship or something .

Proud of our away support for the noise. Not proud of the way the team played on the pitch, half the team wasn't worthy of such cheer.Gunnersaurus wrote:The away end was rocking even though on the pitch it wasn't, don't know what to make of yesterday, I don't even know if I'm disappointed or not as I expect a rubbish display now against them and they never let us down, that United team with 7 defenders got a result, how embaressing.

gave up my tickets for this one (well they were nicked by the postie again and I let some1 else pick up the duplicates)
so I should be thanking my wife for giving me the hook
a few points
1- away support amazing, don't think I heard the Mancscum all evening
2- did anyone apart from wilshere turn up, very disappointing performance
3- some clubs have players they are desperate to buy, we have players we are desperate to sell.
4- Jack is a born winner, IMO he will soon want out if he's expected to play with denilson, diaby and rosicky. IMO frimpong + lansbury are at least as good and are his mates, get them in alongside rambo. get rid of bendtner and bring in afobe/aneke
5- djuorou is out for the rest of the season apparently (wengers statements on injuries are notoriously innacurate) Kos/Toto doesn't seem to work and our 3rd choice is miquel. Bartley may not be ready (was poor a while ago v celtic) but we have no choice
6- we can still win the league and being out of the cups can be a fewer games advantage but if the club can accept certain players are not up to it that may be an even bigger advantage.
we can still do this, we are 3 points off the top
we were crap last night and their goalie was MOTM ffs
evra had a blatant bookin 20mins in not given, scholes had to go right at the end, cast iron 2nd yellow. scandalous dereliction of duty

Funny thing is that most of those goals are since we moved to the grove when really our best counter attacking years were the last few at highbury
4-4-2 is gawn. These days it is all 1-9-1 at home.![]()
Seriously, football has changed a lot. I'd say we've changed to become a possession team becasuse on the whole opposition teams camp out to steal a point which in todays football is worth literally millions of pounds.![]()
With flooded midfields and one up front the norm, its gonna be god damn hard to counter that shit.
You'd need to invite pressure these days in order to counter attack effectively and I think, I think, even Wenger knows he can't rely on our defense to soak up pressure.
Check out the second goal against barca for proof that we still have the ability to counter-attack in us (although I would wager that we wouldn't have pulled that off were diaby or denilson on the field - but thats for another thread).
However, no way were we going to counter-attack against man yoo because they rarely had more then 2-3 players in our half at any one time. The truly depressing thing is how easily we bent over and let them score.
We needed to keep it tight, do basic defending well and try to nick it 1-0 with one of the half chances we created. But no, that was beyond us and while I am ofcourse disappointed, I had got most of the anger out of my system and had come to terms with the loss after the first goal went in.

The away fans were first class, that chant of "We won the league in Manchester" must of gone on for 10 minutes after the United fans decided to give us a chant of "Your going to win fuck all" or that's how it felt.Gunnersaurus wrote:The away end was rocking even though on the pitch it wasn't, don't know what to make of yesterday, I don't even know if I'm disappointed or not as I expect a rubbish display now against them and they never let us down, that United team with 7 defenders got a result, how embaressing.
Such a shame as well, when the only player to come to the fans at full time is Jack and Eboue. Did they not hear us sing and back them for 90 + minutes ?
Anyway my lasting impressions is Man United is more of a library than the grove. So many mong United fans, it's a joke. And all those pricks with the green and gold scarfs but wearing the united home shirts. Don't they fucking get it?
And we need someone to bring the club together again. The supporters don't feel connected to the fans and vice versa.
Is Wenger the man to steady the ship ? I don't know , but I do know if we had 11 players with even half of the spirit on Jack Wilshere we would be a better team.
We have no "metal strength", because if we did, we would be running away with the league & we would of beaten Brum.
Next 10 games is make or break for us, the players have to step up and show some bollox, for the club and fans. If they don't the protests have to start and the fans have to force Wenger out or into accepting his ideas have failed and we need to new philosophy.
We all need out club back! Rant over.

I really like the 'We won the league in Manchester song', but there was a part of me yesterday that felt thus:
Are we really still bleating about 2002, whilst Man Utd are collecting cups left, right and centre (and beating us right in front of our eyes)?
The 2002 win was an impressive achievement for sure, and on a good day is the cherry on the cake, as far as taunting the opposition goes. But using it to taunt the opposition when they're turning you over, and the fact that it was nine years ago?
If Liverpool or Spuds fans came out with this (or Aston Villa, singing about the European Cup), many here would probably accuse them of living in the past.
