Now, safcftm, I don't know if your tongue is in your cheek or you've had a skinfull or you're still on the pills following the Darren Bent trauma, but I struggle to believe you'd rather have Barry BigBollocks than either of the Laudrup brothers.
You remember Michael, the one who played for Barca and Real Madrid. scored 34 goals for his country and who won the 'Best Foreign Player in La Liga' award.

safc's tongue is firmly in his cheek (at the times it's not licking Bendtner's arse).SpanishJoe wrote:safcftm wrote [Denmark's best ever striker]

Well, if we must we could compare their records for Denmark. Nicklas Bendtner, scored 16 in 44 games (averages that he scores in 36% of games); Michael Laudrup, scored 37 in 104 (averages that he scores in 35% of games): Brian Laudrup, scored 21 in 82 (averages that he scores in 25% of games). It's a close run thing between Michael and nicklas but I think most Danes would agree that Nicklas offers a lot more to their side tbh.

I would be staggered if ANY Danes thought Bender was better than Michael Laudrup.
Beware statistics. Michael played before the Bosnias, Estonias, Moldovas etc played International football enabling other nations to fill their boots.
ML won Serie A with Juve, 4 La Ligas with Barca, 1 with Real Madrid and the Dutch league with Ajax.
In 2006 the Danes voted him their best ever player.
Even though he only played two seasons with Real he was voted their 12th best player of all time.
Platini described him as one of the most talented players ever who would have achieved more if he'd been more selfish.
Romario described him as the 5th best player of alltime.
The goal he scored against Uruguay in the 86 WC was sublime and light years ahead of anything Bender will ever be capable of.
Still, Niklas 'I'm going to be one of the best strikers in the world' Bendtner has had a couple of decent games for Sunderland.

To be fair, I have said that Michael Laudrup was mint, brilliant attacking midfielder but as he wasnt a striker, he has the title of Denmark's best ever attacking midfielder. Nicklas, however, is their best out and out striker of all time. Not as good a goals record as Tomasson, but there is a lot more to his game and he adds more to their side than JDT ever did. Laudrup v Bendtner is always going to be a difficult one to judge due to the different positions they play, but as I say I think most Danes would agree that Bendtner offers a lot to their side and if he was paired with a prolific striker, they'd have their best strike force of all time, so I doubt many of them would put him far behind Laudrup tbh, especially since the lad is so young and so has plenty of years of goalscoring ahead of him

To suggest Bender is the "best of ..." and then taking any decent players out of the running is a bit like saying you're the best Sunderland supporting poster on this forum or I'm the best striker ever to set foot in my front room.
I'm happy that you like him. Please feel free to start a whip round. 50 quid and he's yours.
