Olympiacos Away

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I would much rather give him an unemployment slip...

..In all honesty, had you beaten Marseille and been screwed over by us playing a weakened side, that would have been disgraceful on the part of Wenger... Quite glad you didn't win (I prefer you to Marseille, but I wouldn't like to see you go out of the competition unfairly) :)

We've been up two nothing and they have showed the result from your game 1:0...but still we should have won it...and the 2:1 came out of nowhere...think we have to learn how to play international games..

The thing with not playing the best squad is kind of unfair...just imagine you would need help from another squad and they let the youth team play..

Cheers,
Thomas

I know, I agree it's unfair....

...But of course Wenger is the moral guardian ofo all football, so he can't be wrong on a moral issue. Ever.

I can see that you would like to see that both Manchester Teams are going out  Well I think Bayern will at least not loose...which means City will be out. I also think that Basel (Switzerland  ) can pull something out of the pocket against ManUtd.

This (Basel) is where Caesar Augustus once sent his legions down the river to do battle with the Teutons

you have to submit a "squad" for the cl before the competition starts, this is the squad you play all your cl group stage games with however you see fit.
i'm aware of the "strongest possible line up" law, but the only way you'll ever enforce that is if every team has to submit their first XI, and only deviate from it due to injuries.
obviously that will never work though, cos what happens if someone comes out of nowhere (ox) whilst someone else turns to utter shit (chamakh last season) in the meantime?

the fact is, you're drawn into a group with 3 other teams, you then play every team home and away. qualification is in your own hands and if you fail to qualify, it's noones' fault but your own.
us arsenal fans spent plenty of time at the end of the 90's/start of 2000's failing to qualify from what looked on paper beatable groups so it's not like we don't know how it feels. what it is we don't know though, is how it feels to win it! so stop crying! :p ;)

as a footnote, when i was a little boy my dad was in the army and we lived not a million miles from dortmund, so i always want them to do well, and wanted you guys to finish runner up to us from day one xx

I havent read all the posts about the game because I'm sure it's full of people who said b4 the game we should play the kids cos it don't matter if we win and now complaining we didnt win.
But I would like to say well done to the gooners we tried to make as much noise as poss during the game. And a massive thank you to the Whitby gooners and all the lads I met in Athens who made the trip such a brilliant one.
I know we lost but Tuesday was one of the best days of my life. George (my son) and I had such a laugh b4 and after the game that by the time we got back to the hotel at 04:30 we forgot we even played a game.
Brilliant night  :D :barscarf:
