RIP Hebe Camargo

Hebe Maria Monteiro de Camargo Ravagnani (March 8, 1929 – September 29, 2012) was a Brazilian television host, singer and actress. She is considered the "Queen of Brazilian Television". She died at her home on September 29, 2012.

RIP Barbara Ann Scott

Barbara Ann Scott King (May 9, 1928 – September 30, 2012) was a Canadian figure skater. She was the 1948 Olympic champion, a two-time World champion (1947–1948), and a four-time Canadian national champion (1944–46, 48) in ladies' singles. Known as "Canada's Sweetheart", she is the only Canadian to have won the Olympic ladies' singles gold medal, the first North American to have won three major titles in one year and the only Canadian to have won the European Championship (1947–1948). During her forties she was rated among the top equestrians in North America. She received many honours and accolades, including being made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1991 and a member of the Order of Ontario in 2008.

Eric John Ernest Hobsbawm, CH, FBA, FRSL (9 June 1917 – 1 October 2012) was a British Marxist historian of the rise of industrial capitalism, socialism, and nationalism. His best-known works include his trilogy about the long 19th century (The Age of Revolution: Europe 1789–1848, The Age of Capital: 1848–1875; The Age of Empire: 1875–1914), The Age of Extremes on the short 20th century, and an edited volume which introduced the influential idea of "invented traditions".

RIP Big Jim Sullivan

Big Jim Sullivan (14 February 1941 – 2 October 2012) was an English musician, whose career started in 1958. He was best known as a session guitarist. In the 1960s and 1970s he was one of the most in-demand studio musicians in the UK, and performed on more than one thousand charting singles over his career. He was also credited with pioneering the use of the fuzzbox and the talkbox.

RIP J. Philippe Rushton

Jean Philippe Rushton (December 3, 1943–October 2, 2012) was a Canadian psychology professor at the University of Western Ontario who is most widely known for his work on racial group differences, such as research on race and intelligence, race and crime, and the application of r/K selection theory to humans in his book Race, Evolution and Behavior (1995). His work has been heavily criticised by the scientific community, and it has been widely described as racist, as has the Pioneer Fund, the research foundation he has been head of since 2002

Robert Frederick Christy (May 14, 1916 – October 3, 2012) was an American theoretical physicist and later astrophysicist who worked on the Manhattan Project. He was also briefly president of Caltech.

RIP Erhard Wunderlich

Erhard "Sepp" Wunderlich (December 14, 1956 in Augsburg – October 4, 2012 in Cologne) was a West German handball player.
As a member of the West German handball team, Wunderlich won the 1978 World Men's Handball Championship and the silver medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics. At the latter tournament he played all six matches and scored 22 goals.
