Seems like there is a growing trend to knock the guy at the moment. I would remind people that ever since Mong left he has marshalled that midfield magnificently
I think it's simply to knock players who are out of form or feeling their way back from injury.
It's Arteta's turn at the moment (luckily for Jack! ). That's all. People will soon move on to the next player and offer the same level of zero understanding.
Cazorla will probably escape it, but watch out Ox, Podolski and Theo if they don't hit the ground running!
Ahhh....I see. You just know Abou will hit the ground running don't you mate?

Which knowing poor Abou's luck will mean another 6 months out!!

Yeah, face first when his knees give out after 30 seconds!

he won't even get that far...he'll hit the ground like a safe when he climbs off the treatment table.
after the utter shoite that was the Dortmund game can anybody still dispute how important flamini is to us??first game without and we lose,no coincidence for me at all,and regards arteta, wtf, the guy is not even half the player flamini is in the dm role,a total waste of space, tets needs to be further up the pitch imho.we are all concerened about giroud getting injured,i think its flamster we should be concerned about, hes the first man down on the team sheet for me,end of

Posted this on the match thread but it fits here too!
Cannot believe anyone is slating Arteta for last night. Arteta did a good job, nothing spectacular, but ran and covered when needed and tackled when needed. He gave the CH's alot of cover. Let's not forget Flamoney didn't play because he injured himself stupidly lunging in head first for a nothing ball when the team were in no danger. Don't get me wrong, I think Flamoney has been pretty good since he came back, but he is somewhere in the middle of Alex Mong at one end of the DM spectrum with the Hollywood lunges and only reacting to things and Arteta at the other end with a more measured approach, anticipating and directing play. For me Arteta is the better DM as he anticipates alot more and positions himself better (reminds me a bit of Gilberto in his prime) with mostly no need to react and lunge in. I still think Flamoney will cost us big time at some point with his rashness and poor decision making. Just a feeling...
And having said that I still think Flamoney has a role to play in this team. I think I'd play Arteta against the passing more technical sides and Flamoney against the "physical" sides like the Orcs. And in some games both.

What a load of fucking bollocks marky, out of interest how would you rate Wilshire's performance last night? he was the weakest link and we improved fucking sevenfold when he went off, just as our performance waned when he came on against Napoli.
He is wayyyyy out of his depth against quality opposition.

thought wilshere was dire, regarding Arteta again,my point is that Arteta isn't a DM,never will be plus when he plays we play so slow,Tets is a great player further up the pitch,he was a creative player and goal scorer at everton and that's where he should be now.
Yeah and according to some we missed the attacking prowess of Wally last night too It is long accepted that players importance is exaggerated when they miss a game that we lose but the hype of flamoney is a bit ott even allowing for that There is no denying that he brings some positives to the table that none of the rest of them bring but he is still a limited footballer and I stand by my assessment that it was when we had possession last night that we were at our worst

I think we lacked pace and width, and lacked accurate passes to Giroud, as such Walcott would have been an asset.

I agree, because we had possession but without pace and directness.
Walcott's pace and energy, and Flamini's energy, and Podolski's directness, would likely have been an improvement.
