The Mesut Özil Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

and now Bergkamp has more League Titles than the spuds :barscarf:

Platt to be fair, did struggle abit - though i remember one header and one looping volley from him, but he wasn't the player he was in Italia '90.
Sugar did his best to outdo himself by smugly predicting at the time the first iPod was launched that they wouldn't even be on the market come Christmas time.

Platt's winner against United at home 97/98 was worth the fee alone!
Hadn't the vermin also signed someone around that time and Sugar reckoned whoever they were they would be a bigger hit than The Dennis? And they promptly disappeared up their own arse and ended up at Luton or Palace or somewhere like that...

Or did I just dream that...? :rubchin:

Ah yes thats right, he was an unused sub for the first team, can only assume every other striker in England pulled out through injury.

Oz11 needs a striker with speed to let him look good. He will be good, but not excellent with the main striker we have. Pity we lost Theo. Theo will help Oz11's game when he gets back next season.

4th on the assist table in the league now is not so bad either...

Peace

Perhaps another way to describe the Ozil problem is the hi-fi analogy?

It was often said that your hi-fi system was only as good as its weakest part. For instance you could have a top of the range hi-fi, record player, tape deck etc. but if you connected it all up to a pair of cheap speakers; then your music would only ever sound as good as the cheap speakers allowed it to.

If Ozil is the top of the range hi-fi and Sanogo & Giroud are the speakers then maybe we can see the problem right there?
