[POLL] Should we have bought back Cesc Fabregas?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

50/50?

Surely, if - as reports suggest - it's us who have turned Cesc down despite his willngness to return, the blame is heavily weighted on Arsenal? :rubchin:
Seems that weigh.

I've already said what I've had to say on the matter.

With a full pre season under his belt I fully expect Abou's early season performances to have everyone saying "Cesc who?"

Yes, I know.

"If he really did love Arsenal he wouldn't play for Chelsea."

You're of the thinking that if you're one true love (Barca) don't won't you, and your second love (Arsenal) don't want you either, he should be forced out of ever playing in England and Spain forever, and concentrate on playing out his days in another league like France (poor sod), Italy (not what it used to be) or Germany (one team wonder and always will be).

Alternatively, how about just slitting his wrists or retiring? - now THAT would prove his love for Arsenal and Barca :barscarf:

Is that the kind of loving gesture you're after?

You act like that's too much to ask   :barscarf:

But in answer to your more serious point, I'm of the live by the sword die by sword school and for all his quotes and statements if he goes back on that he has made himself look a lying tosser.

Thing is, its not really about the quality of football anymore. Modern footballers want money and although the leagues aren't great across Europe they are at almostmcertsin to guarantee silverware at the likes of PSG,Juve,Bayern.

But that's just me.

Juve and Bayern would be good (but perhaps improbable moves) whereas Inter, Milan, Dortmund, etc. are probably not realistic destinations.

PSG and Monaco may be interested, but Ligue 1 isn't really where you want to be spending the best years of your career.

I think Man Utd should go for him. He'd be perfect there.

I've already given you the reason why he isn't coming back ,Only perhaps it's poor old Arsene whose ego won't allow him to re-sign him ,as we all know he's not above a bit of pride and Vanity .

Wow. Just, simply... fucking... wow. :|

That is one of the dumbest posts I've ever read on here - and that's saying something!

I bet when DB10 went that first 5 or so games without scoring you were giving it loads, huh? "He's shit, he's a flop, Inter were right!"  Probably thought Pires was shit too huh?

Ozil is the single only truly world class player we have. Ramsey is close but I'm not convinced by him until he can hit that level for at least 2 seasons running. Ozil has been a top player in European football for years now. He is class. He sees and tries things that are too advanced for some of our players to see or react to quickly enough. If we add some more quality we will see the best of Ozil.

Similar to DB10. He looked a bit iffy with Selley and Hillier trying to play with him. But add Overmars, Petit, Vieira, Henry and Pires and we saw the real DB10 because he had other players that could think and play on that higher level.

No thanks to your suggestion. I'd rather have Özil.

Besides...

Well yeah stats are great but if you only have 10 tackles in a season like Ozil, you only need to miss 3 for such a stat. Besides, Cesc played out of position at Barca.

Cesc for me is has been a better player at The Arsenal, by a mile. I love some of Ozils touches, and in some ways (Mainly tackling and terrier like ways of Cesc) they complement each other far better that Santi and Ozil.
