Have we conceded one goal this (or last) season that has not come directly from a mistake in one way or another? I cannot think of any that wasnt error strewn?clockender1 wrote:you lot did - i pointed out that in every single game him and Kos take turns not to track back or get caught our of position. Wenger quoted the Guardian.
Wenger caused eyebrows to be raised when he said that “no one talks” as he dissected the injury-time equaliser that his team conceded against Liverpool. Martin Skrtel’s header seemed to stem from a defensive communication lapse, which featured Per Mertesacker turning his back on the ball.
“Maybe they do talk but it doesn’t look like that when you look at the pictures,” Wenger said. “It’s important to have someone organising. You want somebody to take the leadership there.”
It's only taken him 5 seasons to discover there are no leaders.
I suppose it is out of the question to expect Clueless himself to instil some organisation in the team.
Defensive drills on the practice ground would be useful start.
Natural leadership is not something you can train, it is a characteristic.
I was once a regular 5 a side player, most of the outfield players were quiet chaps, but our goalkeeper would not shut up. For the whole game he would be shouting, calling players back, who to cover. We were a much better team for it.
