a) Despite having obvious limitations, Giroud is a tryer, and you have to give him credit for that.
b) Olympiakos are a little inferior to West Bromwich Albion and Norwich.

Are you basing the comparisons of WBA and Norwich against Olympiakos on just our games against them?
Giroud is a good player IF you play to his strengths, good at finishing at near post with headers and flicks,
But if you are expecting him to chase balls with pace forget it, thats not him

If last August you'd have told me I'd make that statement this season I'd have assumed I'd finally being committed.

Honestly thought Chamberlain would push on and have a great season, but he has regressed badly and seems to be missing confidence, touch and pace....he needs to sort himself out, but not in the first team
Agreed, I was extremely confident that he'd have a break out season this year. Not only has that not happened he's now up there with one of the last names I like to see on the team sheet. Very disappointing, hopefully just a blip and nothing more long term.

Can all those that slagged off Campbell come on here for a public flogging ;). I question any football fan that doesn't rate a player who has excelled in the world cup. The quality was always there.
Sorry mate but his ONE World Cup goal does not elevate him to some sort of special treatment.

He has been consistently turd and had a great game (I hear) against a side who he is familiar with and are probably more about his level. He pilfered an unremarkable 8 goals on loan in Greece to add to his paltry 7 in 80 games from his other loan spells - he is just another one of Wengers failed experiments.
WTF! Did you actually watch the world cup. He was more than a goalscorer he was pissing on pretty much every teams defence that he came up against!

If you want to look at stats TH14 scored only 20 goals in 5 seasons at Monaco. Granted he was a winger then, but in a modern set up so effectively is Joel Campbell Pretty blinkered analogy imo especially if you didn't see the game yesterday. Campbell is 23 and Wenger must have seen something in him to persist.

Stop ffs man cos you are embarrassing yourself now

Everyone has acknowledged that campbell did well last night, and everyone has recognised that he works hard for the team (which is always good to see), but again I come back to the reality that last night he played against a 3rd rate european side and in the world cup he scored a sum total of ONE goal - for a striker of any type of quality that is not really acceptable

Btw you are of course right that le cock must see something in him to persist with him this long - I'm sure that bendtner, almunia, denilson, gibbs and chesney will back up that viewpoint, and sonago is just waiting to propel himself into that category

Great week so far and hopefully a Villains pizzling to come. PS Stoked the boys are coming to Oz for a pre season hit out - will be much cheaper than last time I watched them play.....
He is indeed harshly treated by many.

A more than respectable goal record across 4 seasons now, the only forward in our squad with any strength to hold the ball up (despite all this bollocks about him being teflon etc., his control for a big lad is actually exceptional). Obviously thriving now with Ozil kicking on behind him, but some people will just say "Ozil makes him look better than he is" :D Always an easy and facile argument to put forward when you're looking to slate someone and they're doing well.

There's about half a dozen strikers in world football i'd have ahead of Giroud and none of them are likely to come here. Thank fuck for Olivier GIroud. 8)

Campbell should get a lot of credit for working hard and upping his game to stay in contention for a starting place in the team. Having been shipped out for 3-4 season can be demoralizing but he's kept going. When we needed a big performance from the team he stood up and played for the team, worked hard for the team and was one of our top performers on the night.i thought that is what is required to be an Arsenal player. To receive a standing ovation from the Greek supporters show just how highly regarded he is, as well as how well he played on the night. Well done Joel, well done The Arsenal

Really enjoyed Campbells performance last night. He was all over it. He's getting more and more confident and looks like hes got an end product. Very useful squad player in a time of need

Embarassing really?? This is the same forum that bigged up the turd that is Podolski when it was soo obv he was shite.

If Campbell is given a chance at Arsenal, you and anyone else that has slagged him off on the basis of watching a few games will eat your words.

In front of goal. He was rusty and that's to be expected when he's been out injured.
