I feel sick. So disappointed for 9 of our players who were let down by Xhaka (as always) and Gabriel.
I already hate 2022.
Absolutely - I am more gutted than I have been in a long, long time. Apathy has taken over in recent years, but today's performance had roped me in and I am gutted for the majority of those players.
I'm still back to the fact that we had a swiss c.unt that wanted out of our club but was persuaded by the c.unt in charge to stay, and now has been given the armband a few times lately - you reap what you sow, and both c.unts should be ran out of our club
That miss of Martinelli's immediately after their equaliser Nobody has even mentioned it.....Astonishing really.
I understand that, but when you look at the replay again you will see that the ref blocked his view until the last second and he basically stepped by him and hit it first time
Fing Xhaka again. Destroys the best performance in years. I rarely try to blame the ref and VAR, and whilst Silva's penalty was soft, Xhaka just has no foresight and composure. Bernardo wasn't in a threatening position, running toward the by line with a very narrow angle on goal. Xhaka literally ruined what would have been one of the best performances in years. His ill discipline has cost the team again.
He is the anchor around this teams potential. We fucking battered City and should have been up at least 2-0 at half time. But all the same we were in the lead and in control until Xhaka fucks it up. Gabriel gets the yellow for scoffing the penalty Xhaka gives away and then gets the double booking.
If Arteta will show PEA the door, why not Xhaka. Why are we persisting with him. In Martinelli, ESR, Saka, Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney we have the chance to actually have a top team competing at the top - you saw it today in the first half when 3-0 wouldn't have flattered us. Uncharacteristically poor finishing from Martinelli, but sometimes it happens, and even though we didnt make the most of our chances and dominance in the first half, we cant be in a position where we need to take every chance to give us a margin for error due to a perpetual problem player who has defensive mistakes in him. Xhaka is our Harry Maguire.
I am fucking over him. Arteta has a real chance to have a top team at his disposal with real potential in the coming years, but he will ruin it if we have a player like Xhaka in our team. Thats why City beat us today, because they dont have these players. Their weak link was Ake who got outclassed by Saka all game, but Ake doesn't blow their game up with nonsensical plays. Bernardo was going nowhere but Xhaka did what he did, and the next 5 minutes ruined one of the nest 45 minutes we have played in years.

Agreed on Clive, but let's never forget that Emery didn't have the spine to sack him after he abused his team's fans and EMERY was the manager that brought the cùnt back into the team. Of course that fact does not change the fact that Martinez-Lite continually picks the brain dead cùnt to start no matter what.
Some real positives from today.
We didn't get steamrolled
We competed all game even with 10 men.
Partey had probably his best game for us.
Gabriel has been immense, but crossed the thin line between commitment and over zealous today, but I can forgive him that as long as he learns from it.
The one absolutely huge negative is Xhaka! A player who has been commiting these stupid fouls throughout his whole career, so he will never learn.
He actually had a decent game today, but he is a fucking liability, not only when he's shite but even when he is doing ok.
Arteta has to see this and whilst I don't think he will drop him, he cannot be part of his plans for next season, otherwise all the positives become irrelevant.

Because, just like Wenger, he finds it impossible to admit he might have got it wrong. Xhaka was desperate, fighting tooth and nail to leave, Arteta fought to keep him, then gave him a bumper new contract. Xhaka gets sent off and gets a friendly pat on the arse from Arteta. Xhaka is going nowhere and will continue to be the first name on the team sheet.
He's been utter gash for weeks but he was superb today. All his effort and the effort and brilliance of Saka, Martinelli and Tierney all let down by Clivetard as usual - and unfortunately Gabriel.
