Cheaty will get a 20-50m fine and Sheik Mansoor will smile and say 'do you take credit card' as he goes for his wallet which is lined with the piss flaps of 14yo virgins

Nothing but massive points deduction and/or relegation will hurt them.
What will be interesting is the Govt's take on this if Cheaty only get a slap on the wrists relative to Cheaty's wealth.

What power would the new regulator have to call it in, if the PL shit themselves because they are worried about their image. Would the image of the PL be worse if Cheaty aren't properly punished?

And will political shenanigans come into play if Govt fear losing lucrative deals with the UAE?

I fear it's more than football involved, but do believe that Cheaty will be found guilty.

Premier League: CEO Richard Masters speaks to BBC sports editor Dan Roan

This guy is full of shit...especially VAR

As to Cheaty... I leave it to your good selves to decide...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... 49n6evlyyo

For those who cannot open the link:

Premier League chief executive Richard Masters says it is “self-evident” the case around Manchester City’s 115 charges needs to be resolved for the good of the league.

An independent disciplinary commission is set to hear the case against City – who deny all charges – for allegedly breaching the Premier League's financial rules, with some dating back to 2009.

In an interview with BBC sports editor Dan Roan, Masters said he thinks “it is time now for the case to resolve itself”.
When asked whether the case casts a shadow over the league, he said: “It's been going on for a number of years and I think it's self-evident that the case needs to be heard and answered.”

Masters said he “could not confirm” the specific date of City’s hearing. City were charged in February 2023.
However, BBC Sport understands the hearing is set to start next month, with the result possibly known early next year, as first reported by The Times, external.

Masters added: “When the case has been heard there will be a decision published and all the questions you would like me to answer will be answered as part of that process.”

In a separate legal case, City are also taking action against the Premier League over the organisation’s tightened rules over 'fair' sponsorship deals, but Masters said he was unable to comment as the processes are “entirely confidential”.

BBC Sport understands the result of that case is expected in the next few weeks.

I really dont understand how the date for this "trial" comes in under the confidential umbrella - surely to god telling the fans when it is being heard wont break any law or influence the verdict or alter lawyer arguments ??? :? :? :? :?

Everyone involved has signed NDAs. Masters wants them found guilty and punished. I know this second hand. I wouldn’t read anything into what he has said in that interview. If he gives any inference that he wants City done then he will be accused of prejudicing the case.

I hope this isn't one of those Underhand decisions / outcomes, so that when it comes to the Cheaty Charges and Outcomes this case isn't cited in order to let Cheaty escape 'Justice'.

I know Cheaty have 115 Charges against them, but if the charges against Leicester have been thrown out who is to say what may happen; particularly with Cheaty having the Tp Legal Reps known to human kind.

Leicester have escaped sanction as they were relegated so argued they weren’t under premier league jurisdiction when the charges were brought.
Clearly a nonsense loophole/load of bollocks but shouldn’t impact the city hearing (although wouldn’t surprise me if they also find a loophole or two)

Why the fuck didn't they wait and charge them when they got back to the Premier League? Hardly fair on Everton and Forest who got points deducted for not being relegated.

We can all guess at incompetence or corruption, probably both. But I would also guess that it gives the PL the opportunity to reduce the number of charges and letting Cheaty get less of a punishment without losing face by blaming the appeals panel. Fucking morons

Exclusive: Premier League failed in attempt to make Everton pay for full £4.9m PSR legal bill.
Documents show commission ruled club only had to pay £1.7m.

The Premier League’s financial rules under increasing pressure after a bruising 24 hours that could force it to correct “flaws” in its regulations. Sports law experts believe Man City will take heart from Leicester’s legal win.
