I'd take small and natural any day...

Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
I wasn't saying that was the case mate. I'm just agreeing with Augie's initial point that our players haven't attracted the same levels of courting as the likes of Fabregas and van Judas and consequently it HAS been easier to hold onto our players. Not necessarily a reflection on the quality of our top players and even if it was our squad has much more balance and overall quality than 2010-12.1989 wrote:Since when was the quality of your players dictated by the level of interest in them from other clubs?northbank123 wrote:But Barcelona aren't putting all of their effort into dislodging Ramsey and City have stopped throwing money at our players in an attempt to unsettle them....VAVAVOOM 14 wrote:Ramsey is a top player and is viewed as such by other teams, too.augie wrote:
1989 I would suggest to you that the reason we haven't sold our top players again this summer, is because outside of our club they ain't viewed as top quality (except ozil whose form last season was very average). When we had Cesc and rvp there were top clubs lining up to sign them but that ship has sailed and holding onto our players now isn't as hard as it used to be so isn't the real coup you make it out to be
Also, Fabregas and Van Persie were our only top players back then - that's only two - we have three now in Ozil, Ramsey, and Sanchez.
I don't know why you claim "holding on to our players isn't as hard as it used to be" when you just acknowledged we only had two top players to hold on to - you make it sound like teams were clamoring to sign our whole squad.
Even if you don't agree with Augie's point about perceptions of quality the reality is no clubs are going to to these lengths to unsettle our players any more.
Anyway we'll be lucky to hold on to Ramsey for a couple more years. He'll be a Real Madrid player by 2016-17.

Schneiderlin IS coming1989 wrote:We couldn't go wrong with this one SteveO. Premier League hardened, young, good price, hungry and will fit right in. Exactly what we need for the DM position and to let Rambo, Özil and the rest create havoc going forwards.SteveO 35 wrote:http://metro.co.uk/2014/07/19/arsenal-o ... s-4803551/
£18M - pretty much the going rate I would say for a regular international, aged 24 and proven in the PL
I wouldn't be at all sad if we got him. He's used to playing in a similar passing style at Saints - would fit straight in I reckon
He loves a dirty tackle as well. No messing with us with him in midfield.

Would have been a good squad player, not much else, I don't think he would start overofficepest wrote:Hope so. Grindingly average.markyp wrote:remy has signed for the mousers, thats that done then,no more remy rumours

Giroud. Liverpool are going the way of Spuds last year, spending all their new found wealth
on average players trying to replace Suarez.. Do teams never learn

Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
Havent bought a keepers jersey in almost 20 years but if we sign casillas then I would be on the phone ordering one straight away

Even scousers aren't that thick
Kudos to them for getting away with mugging Sunlun and Stoke to the tune of £21million for 2 bang average players. I suppose daylight robbery is second nature to the victims.

I shall wait with bated breath for the queue of ex victims players telling us how Remy is just like Suarez, except no biting or racism...oh and no 31 goals. What he does have is a questionable injury record and iffy off field behaviour. no f**king way should we pay him £80k a week.
