Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Sounds like a perfect Arsene signing. Like-for-like, and probably worse than Clichy.

What else do people expect?

If we sign a CB and midifielder I can guarantee the following..

- The defender will be technically good but prone to being bullied off the ball at set pieces.
- The midfielder will be short, technically brilliant, but prone to being bullied off the ball and mentally weak.

At least he's not a fucking teenager! (28 year old so experienced). He also looked quite good in Copa America.

We have a squad full of 'squad' players if you know what I mean. We need players who are guaranteed first choice, NOT who might be able to fill in for half a dozen games.
FFS, when will this farce end? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
How the hell is signing a player at his peak who is a Brazilian regular international shopping in Lidl? What left back should he have signed then?
the problem this time is not the calibre of the player mate, it's his style of football. we have now the worst defence in the last couple of decades at arsenal (and after taking 8 up the ass at old trafford i'm sure no one will disagree) and instead of buying players who are intelligent and solid defenders, he buys a fullback who can score goals and make assists, but has very poor positioning sense and can't tackle.

we're buying him because he is cheap and well known, not because of his football.

I don't give a fuck who we sign anymore. Our manager couldn't organize two sheets of paper.

When the coach doesn't have a clue you're fucked. Period.

Also suggests he's planning on sticking with the water-tight plan of getting the full-backs to constantly bomb forward, meaning there's still sod all chance of our back 4 ever operating as one unit. Which is nice.

And how do we know this little pearl of wisdom?

The only media coverage I have seen about this was on a dodgy translated Turk paper that looks as reliable as Doujorou!

Jesus man, lets watch the geeser play first LOL

Looks tall, strong, quick, good on the ball.. he's a Brazilian international and at £7m looks a steal!

So Frank needs to watch him first before being able to pass comment on what this guy looks like, but you can say he looks like he's xyz and a steal at £7m etc? :?

Bloody hell, maybe there is a clique!
