Re: SUMMER TRANSFERS - Deals, Rumours and Buy/Sell Wish List
I didn't watch the Liverpool game.
I am not a body language expert, lip reader or (TV dependent )psychic.
and I've gleaned 100% as much about where Suarez will play next season as everyone who did watch...

I completely agree. There's more than enough real issues to get het up about, without getting vitriolic over a pound, especially when it appears that the Suarez clause required 'offers over 40 mil', hence the pound. We could have offered a penny over, so to offer a whole pound shows real class.highburyJD wrote:Story: there's a £40M clause, club bids £1 more in order to trigger it.
Fans of club are upset by it. Seriously??!? "Classless"
Damn you lot are a miserable bunch.
I'm obv an addict but gonna have to cut back/ take a break,
just too much Arsenal hate on here

He didn't look happy but his cameo says they'd be mad to let him go.1989 wrote:Anyone watching the victims friendly? Suarez just came on and to say he looks unhappy would be a massive understatement. It's like Van Judas vs Cologne all over again, except 10 times worse. If he's still there come September 1st I'll eat my balls.

I don't believe Suarez is a racist, but he is a loose cannon and a bit of a scumbag, but, with most of the top strikers already bought or spoken for, I'm getting desperate and we need a player of his quality up front, so my morals are going on holiday for a while and I'm going to hope we sign him.
However, could we get Lewandowski for 40 mil?

He's 100% off, wait and see.

Retracted - he's going. Just watched the warm down, looks like he's going to cry. Tell you what though, if he hates being there that much but still plays like that then let's av im - he can bite whoever he wants.Swifty wrote:He didn't look happy but his cameo says they'd be mad to let him go.1989 wrote:Anyone watching the victims friendly? He's world class. His assist for the second goal was effortlessly brilliant.Swifty wrote:Retracted - he's going. Just watched the warm down, looks like he's going to cry. you'd have to be blind to not see what's going on here. Wenger offers Liverpool 40m knowing damn well they arent releasing him just so when the time comes and we havent signed anyone of (proven) quality that he can turn to the supporters and say "I tried, i offered 40m."
Re: SUMMER TRANSFERS - Deals, Rumours and Buy/Sell Wish List
Yeah, he's a freak - maybe it would be the making of Wenger - taming the wild beast - then again maybe better untamed.1989 wrote:He's world class. Maybe just accept he's Uruguayan - with all due respect.

I dunno, Wenger really doesn't seem the type to do anything to appease anyone or excuse himself - I think he puts the pope second behind himself in terms of infallible and lots of little boys around the world would argue against the soundness of that entire sentence.Yankee_Gooner_Dandee wrote:you'd have to be blind to not see what's going on here. Re: SUMMER TRANSFERS - Deals, Rumours and Buy/Sell Wish List
No doubt followed up with some comments along the lines of "how much do these people want me to spend on a player? £60m? £80m? £100m?" and something about spending money for the sake of it and/or fee not dictating quality.Yankee_Gooner_Dandee wrote:you'd have to be blind to not see what's going on here. Whereas in reality we wouldn't pay £30m for a player.
