I completely agree. There's more than enough real issues to get het up about, without getting vitriolic over a pound, especially when it appears that the Suarez clause required 'offers over 40 mil', hence the pound. We could have offered a penny over, so to offer a whole pound shows real class.

I don't believe Suarez is a racist, but he is a loose cannon and a bit of a scumbag, but, with most of the top strikers already bought or spoken for, I'm getting desperate and we need a player of his quality up front, so my morals are going on holiday for a while and I'm going to hope we sign him.

However, could we get Lewandowski for 40 mil?

Yeah, he's a freak - maybe it would be the making of Wenger - taming the wild beast - then again maybe better untamed.
Maybe just accept he's Uruguayan - with all due respect.

I dunno, Wenger really doesn't seem the type to do anything to appease anyone or excuse himself - I think he puts the pope second behind himself in terms of infallible and lots of little boys around the world would argue against the soundness of that entire sentence.

No doubt followed up with some comments along the lines of "how much do these people want me to spend on a player? £60m? £80m? £100m?" and something about spending money for the sake of it and/or fee not dictating quality.

Whereas in reality we wouldn't pay £30m for a player.
