The most interesting part of that article...

"Arsenal have interest in Real Madrid's Sami Khedira, Lars Bender of Bayer Leverkusen and William Carvalho of Sporting Lisbon but Schneiderlin was considered the easier option and arguably better value at around £16m".

I have said that on numerous times on here lately and have been slated for doing so

Hernandez is very limited. Good option to have if you are chasing a goal and playing 4-2-4 with the other team camped in their own box. Other than that doesn't offer a lot.

He was particularly fucking useless for Mexico towards the end of the Holland game. They needed him to either hold the ball up a bit to give them a breather or offer an option in behind to hopefully kill the game off or at least create some space. He was incapable of doing either and consequently the Dutch defenders could push right up and as soon as Mexico cleared the ball it was coming straight back to them.

Wouldn't be enthused by him as an option over a season in a 4-4-2 never mind 4-5-1.

You wouldn't be angling for an argument would you Augie??

And does anybody believe that he loves Pochettino so much he would turn down a chance to join us as first-choice DM (and therefore an important player) so that he can plug away being rotated with Sandro, Dembele, Capoue, Paulinho and even Bentaleb in a mid-table team?

The TV5 rumours continue,Le Boss didn't deny it when asked was a bit non commital which means it's possible negotiations are on going. Wouldn't want to lose him but 10-12million for your injury prone 3rd choice CB is only good business if we upgrade at a sensible price.

Nastasic from Shitty is available at roughly the same price, don't know what his injury record is like but he knows the league and isn't that bad a choice. If we gave Real 15million for Varane that wouldn't be a bad deal. As a left field option, wonder if Villa would sell us Vlaar.

Think he's available for about £6million. But only if he brings along his alter ego World cup 2014 Vlaar.

Epl season 2013 /14 Vlaar can stay the hell at Villa.

Buy a striker,CM,CB and GK quick Arsene as I am sick of playing fantasy transfer window. Or at least come clean and say we are done buying because you're a tight fisted little byatch.

By the way the William Carvalho rumors have sparked a massive ol' boner on me. Best young DM around by miles. If we get him, it would be a coup and a half. Can't see us meeting the release clause though sadly.

We all acknowledge that some players join us on the basis of the wenker myth, so it is quite possible that a player would opt to work with a manager that he has enjoyed success with

You've been moaning about us cutting costs for a potential DM. It doesn't get much better than Carvalho. He is even big and strong, which is what you want.

Regardless of what we think as fans there are still a horde of world class (former) players queueing up to say about how great Wenger was for their development and praise his management style to high heaven. Even the likes of van Judas and Fabregas publicly admired him.

We also haven't used the Wenger factor to fight off bigger/better/richer teams. Spurs are not only far inferior to us, being based in exactly the same city and league they have no other selling point over us. As much as Wenger cult may have played a part in drawing Ozil and Sanchez to Arsenal would it have done so if City were also in? Don't think so.

I don't know, maybe the good 18 months that Schneiderlin had under Pochettino might persuade him to be a rotation player at a mid-table club rather than join us as a starter in the key DM role, I don't know the bloke. If it did tbh he's probably not the kind of player we should be signing anyway...

I have seen Carvalho all of once, twice at most. Yes he's good but Sporting take the p*ss with their release clause like most bloody Portuguese teams. No way is he worth £37million.

I thought release clauses were useless anyway.
