The 2015 Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wenger is the smartest guy in the room, if not the entire football world and he is not going to be told by a lowly football pundit what he needs to do. So now, he is going to prove EVERYBODY wrong. He will fail, be unaccountable and unanswerable as he declares ruefully at the end of Sept that the title is now out of reach. :cussing:

Think there is some sense in your reasoning, if advised he will ignore and do the opposite,

Not sure if the Mourinho dig about calculators and adding up spending was designed exactly to stop Wenger buying anyone

To be fair, he looks really good, but he isn't a striker. He is a winger. Not really what we need.

Whatever happened to Wenger buying potential with a view of becoming world beaters? When I say that, I don't mean a 12 year old from the Czech Republic. I mean a player who isn't playing much at another big team or ready for the next step up at a smaller club and about 20-24. As much as we would love a superstar, we aren't going to get one (and I seriously hope that this comment bites me in the arse and we do).

I see Man.U are looking at the young Monaco striker as a last minute desperate boost. We at Arsenal all know that cannot be true as Wenger has stated categorically that there are no strikers available. I truly believe that Wengers sole purpose is to get CL football for the least amount of outlay. The owners of both Chelsea & Man City do not need money. The clubs are an extension of the owners egos and all they want are trophy's. They have EVERYTHING else. Not so Kroenke, Arsenal is a business and he wants the most return for the least outlay. And if Wenger can win the odd trophy to keep the ungrateful, annoying fans off their backs so much the better. So 2 FA cups in 2 years means no need to spend any money. The race for 4th begins now. We won't win the league and I don't even think about winning the CL. That is quite simply impossible. But of course Wenger knows better. He has been proved wrong for a decade now but he stills knows better.

Quite existential, ( can we call you x for short)

Chelsea and Man City who both finished comfortably above us have bought to further strengthen, yet we cannot find anyone, anywhere in t h e world to improve our hole-ridden team.

Wenker either needs to find players that fit his system or preferably change the piss poor system to suit the players / opposition.

As you astutely put despite everyone else knowing, Wenker knows F.A.

If I was a manager at another club in England right now, I'd be telling my scouts to get me agents who need a striker shifted so Arsenal can't get one.

This guy is supposed to be ace in a few years in FM 2015 - We aren't linked. He is supposed to be the next Neymar - http://www.turkish-football.com/man-utd ... kish-move/?

For me, this wouldn't surprise me that we go for someone like him. Not ready now.

We have soooo many little midfielders. A seemingly endless supply, who, when the going gets tough, get going..... nowhere to be found. When I see the miserable looking Arteta standing there waiting to come on I feel like putting my foot through the tv. You actually forget that we still have him (isn't he the captain??) Wenger once hailed him as almost irreplaceable.

Wenger is essentially saying with his lack of transfer activity is that - other than Petr Cech - there is not one player on the planet who we could feasibly sign who would improve our squad.

With the red mancs throwing money at shite, and the Bindippers and Spuds no better than last season, in his mind he has no reason to strengthen the squad as fourth at least is secure. The only difference between this season and last will be the swapping of places between City and the Chavs.
