THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Simeone aint gonna happen but allegri might be a good shout - that juve team (especially buffon and the defence) is getting old, and maybe a new challenge might be more appealing that trying to rebuild there

I am a guy that was a big fan of arteta (right to the end of his time with us) but being honest I dont see where the love for him to return as manager or assistant manager is coming from :? Do we believe that he is an integral part of how citeeh play and how much success they are having ? Pep has achieved success with this system long before arteta was his number 2, so how has arteta shown that he should be considered for the managers position when the french c.unt fcuks off ? He would be down my list of choices if I'm honest

Likewise jardim wouldnt be anywhere near the top of my list either - I know that he has done a good job in monaco, but it is the french league ffs. Does him winning the french league equal the achievement of leicester winning the premier league, and if so why dont we go for ranieri ? (obviously I'm not serious about that). Somewhat racist I know, but personally I wouldnt even consider a french manager unless they had previously played for us, or for someone else in premier league - maybe I am so fcuked off with all things wenker, that the prospect of hiring another french manager worries me. I know that I dont have an awful lot of knowledge about the guy, but he seems quiet and reserved, and the last thing we need is another softly spoken guy managing these wimpy c.unts
Agreed about Arteta, but I'd take Jardim in a heartbeat (in fact, he'd be my first choice). He's tactical and unlike Wenger, can develop youth. Here is very good article about him here -

http://outsideoftheboot.com/2017/09/19/ ... do-jardim/

(btw - he's Portuguese)

Wenger will be the next England manager after Southgate tanks this summer.

Now for me that is a Win, Win Outcome. :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

I hate to be the voice of doom when people are speculating on our next manager but if Wenger really did sign for 2 years last May then he isn't going anywhere this summer. He will definitely not leave early of his own accord because he doesnt have a shred of humility and the club will not force him out if he doesnt want to go.

The only hope I have for Wenger going this summer is if he actually just signed a 1 year deal last May but the club decided to tell us it was for 2 years so this season did not see a repeat of the last few months of the 16-17 season.

The thing I cannot rule out is that to avoid protests etc. starting up again at the end of next season Wenger will sign an extension this summer. And as ridiculous and implausible as that sounds, its no more ridiculous that his couple of contract extensions.

I know an increasing number think its the end but I wont believe it until I see it.

I’d take either Max headroom or Max Factor at this point.

I was just listening to Radio 5Live and there was a verbal dust-up between Perry Groves and martin Keown - Perry (more or less) accused Keown of being a Arsene Wenger apologist and supporter keown really lost it and the BBC guy Jonathan Overend had to (verbally) step in..they were in different studios (more's the pity) :? ...but Keown made fun of Groves losing his pundit's job on Sky - Implying he knows nothing.

Keown may have once been a legend as an Arsenal player, but he has been a total wenger-in flip flopping cun.t

There's Only One Perry Groves :barscarf: :box:

If Arsenal honours this man in any way, shape or form when he eventually goes I promise I will finish supporting them, whoever takes over.

Not said in the heat of the moment: my love for the club is already hanging by a thread based on great memories of what once was. I know deep down it has probably gone for ever But I still have a flicker of hope that I can take an interest in it again one day.

Anything but a sacking with no honour will confirm the club will never be something I would feel I belong to or even care about again.

They’re going to name a stand after the bastard 100%.

That will only leave 3 sides of the ground that I will go because I’ll never set foot in anything named after that fucking SCUM.

Totally agree and said the same myself. Wenger will not walk and the club won't sack him because they are not going to humiliate him even though they should.
