Odd Match - everything seemed just off a bit.

We were never in real jeopardy but by the same token we never really had complete control either. The gap between the sides was clear and mssive when we went forward yet we they attacked it was almost invisible.

This was basically how Saturday's match probably would have gone had we turned up at the opening kick instead after giving WBA a three-goal start with half an hour left.

We still have plenty of quality and enough to see off most teams but not enough really to play at less than 100% every match. We can't sfford to go through the gears the way Chelsea still certainly can now and United could the past few years, and we used to back before 2005.

i agree that rosicky was very poor tonight, but he did what you expect from a creative winger (which we all know ISN'T his best position): provided chamakh with a very good assist that ended up in probably the most important goal of the match.

i'm not trying to protect him, as again he had a very poor performance, but his commitment and assist will make up for his bad moments. just like we say it about arshavin - if you do nothing the whole game but provide us the winner, then fair play.

I think we should lay off rosicky a tad. Sure, he didnt have a good game but he has made a decent start to the season overall and i think we have bigger problems within the team.

Remember when Rosicky first joined Arsenal. He had a lethal boot on him. I know he's been through the whole "revolving door" which is our medical team far too often since then but I find myself very dissapointed at his meek attempts at goal recently. Has AW "Arsenalised" him too much :?:

Wey hey what a quality trip this has been.

Just got back to hotel. Partizan fans are nutty as fcuk.

But thier support is poor to be honest. Fenerbache they are not. They needed a man on a microphone banging out around the pa system the whole game to keep them going. Heard from a source that the Ref and Arsenal complained and they were told to stop at half time but continued in second half, and now being reported to Uefa. :banghead:

We had no chance being heard as speakers facing into us the whole game just drowned you out.

Made hard work of the game but a very easy win we will all agree on.

As for Flappy he did his job and certainly grew in confidence ??

Great trip well worth it.Fantastic city, very cheap and for those of you who wanted to travel but didnt due to fans............ Shame you missed a good one... UTA

All these things affect our football and therefore are football-related no matter how badly you want to avoid that. The reality is if it impacts the team we can put on the pitch it's football related. we don't have to discuss every single hour of every single day, but not discussing it all is just as wrong.

Pretending these policies aren't related to our football team in nature is as fault for us winning nothing since 2005 as the actual policies have been :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

What was all that bollocks with stuff being thrown between rival supporters?

Wasn't glass bottles I hope?

Their fans have a really bad rep. And I'm surprised they are even allowed to take part in this competition. An away supporter was killed last year, FFS. Just as bad as Galatasary.

Hope everyone gets back safe. And had a great time.

I meant a post that related to the topic concerned and to the actual game that took place rather than the so called wider issues in the game

As I suggested I post plenty of posts like that. The problem is some people would rather think all I post about is the Board-related issues because that makes it easier to marginalize those views.

I think the problems can be looked at on a day-to-basis, but any consideration of solutions requires discussing the things people are uncomfortable discussing.

So I get your point. Now onto Sunday....hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Glad to hear it was a good trip, even more gutted that I couldn't afford to go :(

Must agree that, based on the TV coverage, their support was good but not the best i've heard. There was a very good period just before our penalty but there were several quiet periods too & heard The Arsenal a few times. Megaphones are pretty commonplace these days, most groups use 'em to get chants going etc. Poor form if a complaint was made though to be honest, UEFA will use any excuse to try & chip away at the European Ultra movement & sanitize the game as much as possible. CL atmospheres at these places are already dumbed down compared to their league matches as Platini & co come down hard on the clubs for any flares, smoke, streamers etc that are used as they don't fit their family friendly "global image" of the CL brand.

I would imagine the rep of their supporters is somewhat exaggerated by people who watch too much Danny Dyer & have never been to a game outside England. Was told before going to Roma, Fenerbahce, Olympiakos, Warsaw etc that i'd come home in a bag. Had no problems, probably because I don't act like a knobhead, and actually found numerous fans of these teams to be pretty friendly.

I'd like more trips to these rowdy Eastern European teams tbh
