As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
When the atmosphere got going last night I looked down and the crowd appeared visibly closer to the pitch - it proved that the Emirates/Grove can indeed be intimidating! Also made me realise what a negative impact it would have to have a running track pushing the crowd further back.
Thought the "parading" of the flags was a bit cheesy - but it worked so I guess must be a great idea!
Loved it when virtually the whole ground was singing "by far the greatest team" with scarves held high.....tear to the eye stuff and almost Kop like! Think what we really need though is an anthem. Anyone ever thought of that ?
Would also like to thank the barca fans for sitting down during the game. You don't often see away fans doing that and its a lesson for us all.... !
What a fantastic night, and performance! The best atmosphere that I have experienced at the Grove! I noticed that on the big screens they were calling it Arsenal Stadium, not the Emirates!
WELL DONE TEAM!
WELL DONE FANS!

They have to call it Arsenal Stadium on CL nights cos Emirates is not a UEFA sponsor.
I agree the flag parading would definitely be cheesey if it was done every game. In that video I posted though it just seemed really spontaneous and awesome, like the guy just saw a big giant flag lying there and thought "fuck this, I'm gonna run across the entire north bank waving it!"

The guy who was the flag waver was supposed to stay in position and just wave the flag while he stayed stationery ; He obviously got a bit carried away and improvised after the second goal.
Well done him, even if it did mean stadium management phoning me up afterwards to complain. H&S bollocks.
Some of you might know him ; His name is Michael Farmer, but also known as Michael Shirts or Michael Beret ; He was the 'face' of ESPN Arsenal games last season for their ad breaks.

Brilliant result and great fight and determaination from our team..... 2-1 is not a scoreline you want to go to the Nou Camp with if you want to get through though
Great result and two great goals. We were under pressure for most of it but we showed some real balls in the end.
So happy to see Wenger FINALLY make a good tactical decision DURING a match by taking Song off!! Yes he has improved as a player but he was so outclassed and outpaced for much of his time on the pitch last night it wasn't funny. Then when he resorted to just kicking and obstructing every attacking whore, and mouthing off at the ref, I just knew he was minutes away from a red and we'd have been fucked.
So well done Arsene, got him off, - a very good tactical decision. Only took 13 years, huh?
Great to see AA23 show his real quality again. If he can just keep improving and getting his confidence up (as well as his shoddy workrate) he'll be a real asset to the team.

better than 1-0 down or 1-1 though
agreed but what happened last night can easily be repeated at the Nou Camp (whether it's against the odds or not). remember inter v barca last season?
the "premier league tempo" we imposed at times was key last night and enabled the team to believe (for 90 mins) they could get something out of the tie
let's savour every single day of the current feel-good factor until the return leg. we're as good (if not better) than inter were so optimism isn't out of place

An Inter team tactically coach by Mourinho we are not better than... Thats said lets enjoy giving the self proclaimed best team in the world a black eye
100% brilliant last night ! Wonderful night !! Got well oiled on Stella and JD before the game, and the 1/4 bottle of JD helped the tension of the game !!
Atmosphere was immense. Really a special night.
I took a couple of the flags home for the kids, and the missus told me today my 5 year old daughter took it to school for show and tell ! Good Girl !
