It was a poor sub choice though, in all honesty. He's not ready to play, let alone be thrown in the deep end.
Yeah agreed, with Dortmund pressing and our lads holding out, to bring a player on for the last six or seven minutes and expect them to instantly be up to the pace of the game is unreasonable IMO.
give him time. he's only just bloomin got off the plane. he certainly isnt slow so we can take that he's just settling in.

Gibbs first 30 mins was about as poor as I've seen from anyone all season, he was diabolical. As with others he improved in the 2nd half thank fuck. He is a nightmare waiting to happen, no positional sense whatsoever.

It's common for fans to see players and team's performances differently but the papers and some on here are saying what a good 2nd half it was.

To me it looked like Dortmund were the top side and we were the Division One side, defending for our lives and desperately trying to protect a one goal lead. There was no threat going forward and we couldn't keep the ball. On the one hand I can see why we might see some postives with the defensive side but is that what we're gonna be about now? For me, that 2nd half was a bit worrying. Oh and I knew we could rely on 'Silly Foul Song' to give yet another free kick away in a dangerous area. Great strike obviously but I wish some coach at the club could get that fucking irritating side out of his game.

I take many positives from last nights game. I thought Arteta looks the part and we really surprised Dortmund.
Nothing we could do about their goal and again our keeper had a solid game.
I would like to see Chamberlain in Walcotts position but yeah was really pleased with the team.

It's always frustrating to drop points at the end, but as you said, it was pretty unfair to Dortmund that we were up 1-0 in the first place. I think this is the toughest match we have in the group stage, so we've got that behind us now and are ready to move on.

And I must have a blind spot, because I thought Gibbs was quite good today, and I really think he's been pretty solid all season long.
Not sure why I am responding to this but no matter who wrote it, it's fucking atrocious.

When you are 1-0 up with five minutes to go, no matter who the opposition are, no matter what has happened in the previous 85 minutes, if you conceed a goal it is and always will be 2 points dropped.

From now until the end of time.

You cant play well every game and Arsenals problem in the past hasnt been winnning when we play well its been avoiding losing when we play bad, this is why last nights defensive performance pleased me. Im not saying this Arsenal team is one of the best teams in Europe or even England at the moment but if you can defend you have a chance. As for Songs stupid fouls the geezer has no brain so there is no chance of this side of his game being coached into him, he is average at best and should be replaced even if its by Frimpong.

Going back to the game i thought Mertesacker's passing was attrocious but i dont give a fuck about this i want defenders to defend and he won more than his fair share of headers and tackles which is good enough for me :barscarf:

I know people are having a go at him for the free kick but can anyone really have a pop at Song's second half display?

He played well in the second half but then as brainless as usual commits a stupid, needless foul in a dangerous position 2 mins from the end and it lets his performance down

Perhaps, but that can happen. I thought he was perfect in the second half, his tackle on Goetze in the box was fantastic. I'm not a massive Song fan but if he can play like that consitantly he might become the player we've been crying out for (I doubt it but we can hope)

I think the draw was a fair result. Arsenal was poor for most of the game but at the end of the day, football is all about scoring more goals than the opposition and we've not been able to score the goals despite our domination and the late equaliser was kinda lucky as well.

I'm glad, though, that Arsenal fans, players and UK reporters enjoyed the fantastic atmosphere. My throat still hurts a bit...

Away supporters were friendly and I saw a couple of Gooners chatting to German fans in the "Strobels" pub right at the Stadium. Support was a bit poor, but I think both sides enjoyed the evening.

Against Swansea and Dortmund he's looked gash. That clearance last night off the line by Sagna? Started off as a Gibbs fuck up.

Seems like a nice kid, and I want him to do well, but he's not good enough ATM.

Sorry, just my impression. I've definitely seen better away support in Dortmund and I know Gooners can do better than that (witnessed it at Portman Road last season!).

Maybe it was due to the (more or less) low number of fans that travelled and they had (apart from the goal) not much to cheer either. I know Gooners are usually more vocal at away games, that's mainly why I was disappointed.

GermanBlue, to be fair it was hard to hear any songs start in that arena other than Dortmund ones. The noise stayed in the ground and everyone sung the song at the same time. We had a go but it was hard to get any momentum for us.
Fair play to your lot, superb effort from everyone who attended that game.
Thats what all supporters should do at games.
Ps with only 2 and a half weeks to scramble some overpriced flights etc i thought that the turnout was good from the lads.
