Re: Walcott's PR Team
Delusion reigns supreme at London Colney. I reckon Inception was based on events at our training ground.

Lets hope he has a good Euros so we can hoodwink another team into paying silly money for him.

If Walcott leaves
ok there was an acceptance that Fabregas was also going to go back to Barcelona at some point and to a certain extent I can see why Van Persie might want to leave this summer for one big final payday. I actually said on these forums back in January that he should have been sold in the January window as it was fairly obvious what was coming once again this summer.
However the bigger warning was sounded by Nasri's departure last summer and it will be confirmed if Walcott is allowed to leave this summer - Arsenal are no longer able to compete for trophies and more importantly not even trying to compete for trophies. We buy loads of mediocre players and hope one or two of them end up ok so we can sell them.
This can't be allowed to continue. We finished last season in the league as the top club in London. Every player in the world should be wanting to come and play for us. Yet we are facing the prospect of yet more top players actually leaving. It is unbelievable.
Now this is ok if we were Spurs or West Ham and in some crappy little stadium but we are not. Season tickets are stupidly expensive (hands up who has given Kroenke some money for his summer holidays then
) in fact any kind of tickets are totally over priced and all this extra expense is for what? to see the best players at the club leave??
ok I accept that Wenger is not totally blameless in all, Gazidis is a
but he doesnt have much real power, no the main blame has to lie with KROENKE. And until people stop lining his pockets then he will continue to bleed the club dry. and why not he is being allowed to get away with it isnt he!?

Re: If Walcott leaves
that sort of comment is probably one reason why he probably will go.
hope you are happy with the Gervinho type replacement

Re: If Walcott leaves
Whether we're serious about winning trophies or not has nothing to do with Theo Walcott. He is irrelevant. Totally replaceable. The only question is whether we'd actually replace him or not. My guess would be that we won't.

oh dear another one.
How do you work out that our best midfielder is replaceable?
If RVP and Walcott leave we will be left with only one world class player - Alex Song

Re: If Walcott leaves
Chamberlin and Gervinho will cover his loss.
The thing with Theo is that he has been persisted with when other managers would have sacked him off ages ago.
Who's to say that Chamberlin or Gervinho won't replace him well? Theo hardly pulls up trees now.

Re: If Walcott leaves
Was a grand old thread named "Walcott's PR Team" where exhaustive Walcott debate was held.
So I merged it into Red Member's new thread.
My tuppence is that whilst Walcott is of course replaceable, he has just had hid best season for us which was not bad.
For all his faults with ball control and running into dead ends, he does contribute goals and assists and has a creative spark about him that means he can do the unorthodox to good effect - such as his goals versus Sweden.
I honestly believe that the whole will be greater than the sum of the parts when we have Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Podolski, Gervinho, Miyaichi and sometimes Santos as wide men.
If Walcott does go, I really hope we get Adam Johnson from Man City who whilst not as fast is a skillful player.
As to where Walcott might go, I think him unlikely to go overseas at this stage in his career, I see that move in about five years time but who knows?

Re: If Walcott leaves
Don't see why people want rid. He's a useful player, who whilst frustrating, is effective. He's still young, can still become consistant. Seems a level headed lad, never into any trouble. Why sell him? A lot of the OX comparisons are rather unfair.
