Er, exactly what sort of c**t^W^W^W person has a Twitter account?
Given the massive number of users that Twitter has, generalizing about them is... a bit silly.

Well yes, it probably is, but by and large the people with twitter accounts who post multiple status updates every day to tell us about the meaningless, dull events that are happening in their entirely uninteresting and unimportant lives tend to be self-centred, self-obsessed wankers. Honestly, who thinks that either their dull day to day lives or their opinions on an issue are so important that people would want to hear them to the extent that people like this "ladyarse" person obviously does? Shes "tweeted" literally about 100 times in the 12 hours shes been awake for today. Quite obviously she holds her own opinion in ridiculously high regard and wants to bore people to death with it as often as possible. People like her and the 100 updates about "going to shops", "need to find a new tune lol" brigade are all wankers. Not all twitter users are wankers, but these people are
Says the Sunderland fan with 2180 posts on an Arsenal forum. That's 2.30 posts per day according to your stats.
Anyway I agree that there's always a balance to be had. To be honest, I hated Twitter but then had to get involved as it was related to an old work project and I stayed on it as after I emigrated from the UK, it was the best way to keep banter going with about five of my very best mates who aren't on Facebook.
Oh, if you replace the "people with Twitter accounts" in your post with "Gooner forum members"... I mean let's face it, some people here like to air their important opinions over and over. Every second post is Wenger-related.

well, i suppose so, but most people use places like this just to pass the time at work and i dont think its quite as full of self important wankers since people on here dont even use their real names etc. Internet forums are a bit like an online version of a pub where people sit around having a bit of a chat but the same kind of dialogue is impossible on twitter due to the small character limit and the fact that you cant see a "thread" of responses.
As I said, I dont think every twitter user is self important, there will be some who use it instead of facebook and for businesses and entertainment acts etc it is a very good way of advertising/ promoting yourself, its just a small number who feel the need to post much more than 2.3 times a day

and who do so to update on every detail of their uneventful day- for instance, you say you use it to keep in touch with mates which is obviously fair enough (personally i think facebook is vastly better for it but then if your mates dont like it theres not much that can be done!), but then i'll bet you keep each other up to date with actual important events and have a bit of banter, as opposed to reading update after update about "got to get paper in", "too cold, turning up heating", "think i'll watch bargain hunt now" etc- these people, and people like ladyarse, are the ones i think are self important wankers, plenty other people with twitter accounts are fine!
Anyway, back to the banner discussion
