The Banner

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

This is what the c**t wants as a counter banner.
Dear God. I had to unfollow her on twitter, about 15 million rose-tinted AKB tweets every fucking day.

Women & football, is there a worse combination? Oohh, controversial!
Its true though, why don't they just fuck off? Look at those two slag c**ts with the poster at the beginner of the season.
Apologies to all the perfectly well rounded individuals on here with twitter accounts  but the bitch is probably just yet another of these self important wankers who thinks anyone gives a flying fuck what they think. These people seem to be the type to have twitter accounts and this bitch has probably just seen the coverage that the anti-Wenger banner is getting and has got all moist thinking "oh, if i do a pro wenger banner maybe someone will give me a bit of media coverage, oh wouldnt that be great, i can tell the world all about myself". As mentioned, there is already a pro-wenger banner (the "in arsene we trust" one) so why the fuck would anyone want to bother getting another one made up other than to get attention
Er, exactly what sort of *word censored*^W^W^W person has a Twitter account?

Given the massive number of users that Twitter has, generalizing about them is... a bit silly.

Well yes, it probably is, but by and large the people with twitter accounts who post multiple status updates every day to tell us about the meaningless, dull events that are happening in their entirely uninteresting and unimportant lives tend to be self-centred, self-obsessed wankers. Honestly, who thinks that either their dull day to day lives or their opinions on an issue are so important that people would want to hear them to the extent that people like this "ladyarse" person obviously does? Shes "tweeted" literally about 100 times in the 12 hours shes been awake for today. Quite obviously she holds her own opinion in ridiculously high regard and wants to bore people to death with it as often as possible. People like her and the 100 updates about "going to shops", "need to find a new tune lol" brigade are all wankers. Not all twitter users are wankers, but these people are

Says the Sunderland fan with 2180 posts on an Arsenal forum. That's 2.30 posts per day according to your stats. ;)

Anyway I agree that there's always a balance to be had. To be honest, I hated Twitter but then had to get involved as it was related to an old work project and I stayed on it as after I emigrated from the UK, it was the best way to keep banter going with about five of my very best mates who aren't on Facebook.

Oh, if you replace the "people with Twitter accounts" in your post with "Gooner forum members"... I mean let's face it, some people here like to air their important opinions over and over. Every second post is Wenger-related.

Love the banner and the passion behind it. Is a good start, however there needs to be more done if any change is to come about. IMO, the board needs a good rollicking too. As much as they would love us to believe that Wenger has free reign, he doesn't. At the end of the rope there's a hand.

Anyone know of other protests planned? Something about dressing in all black perhaps? thought I'd read sumfink about that. Ultimately boys we may need to vote with our wallets to make things happen. Might be the only way to get the Yank's attention.

I've read all 25 pages and am largely impressed. Hat's off to SWL :barscarf:

PS: fuck off LadyARsE!

Over time some of the rest of us should chip in for another. The abusers are making me feel more determined.

As for losing membership and being banned. I dont even have a membership and most home games are on general sale now anyway. Although I understand with most of you needed your away credits etc its a risk.

What can they do?

For the next banner, I really feel Gazidis and the board should be targets as well.

I dont think that there has ever been a time in my life when being a Gooner has left me this depressed  It isnt the shite team and shite performances that has me down cos we have had plenty of those spells in my time as a Gooner but for me I am at a loss to understand this blind faith to wenger and I cannot see anything but trouble ahead :worried: All that being said I still 100% believe that plans to air our feelings should still go ahead only with a much bigger effort and show of numbers - lets face it right now there are thousands of Gooners that want a total overhaul at the top of our club (manager and board) and it is time that we united to say as much and not allow those empty akb vessels simply shout us down without anything but history to defend their position. On that point I will give kudo's to those guys that are gonna stand with swl when he puts up this banner 8)

I have no doubt that the only reason those people defend wenger is cos of his history with us cos he certainly hasnt fixed our defensive problems that have plagued us for a few years now, he still persists with a formation that does not suit these players and has no clue about tactics, he still persists with playing players out of position, he continues to under invest in players (esp proven established players :x ) and yet continues to overpay sub-standard players and he is now unable to hold onto our best players as they continue to leave like rats from a sinking ship to the point that our team is much much weaker now than it was when he took over 15 years ago. If the akb doughnuts can take these points apart and tell me where they are wrong then maybe I will reconsider my position and become an akb but I dont foresee that happening anytime soon  Please wenger just fcuk off now before a really bad civil war breaks out amongst the Gooner army and please bring these sheep like ladyarse with you

Lads, let's just be real careful what we write on here about this dizzy cunt with the counter banner. ABSOLUTELY NO THREATS. Anyone does that will most likely end up banned.

We were shut down before for posters posting lighthearted "threats" and we would be shut down again sharpish if it happens again.

Insults about the retarded spackoid cuntfunnel are ok, but no threats (even in jest).

Great banner SWL and i applaud your efforts to instigate some much needed change. However i have 2 concerns , firstly that you will get the shit kicked out of you by crazed AKB cultists and secondly the aforementioned shit kicking will be spun by the media as proof positive that the vast majority of Arsenal fans are still 100% behind the senile Frenchmen. Anyways best of luck and my advice would be too wear a lunchbox protector ( the kind used to protect your bollox in cricket ).

 well, i suppose so, but most people use places like this just to pass the time at work and i dont think its quite as full of self important wankers since people on here dont even use their real names etc. Internet forums are a bit like an online version of a pub where people sit around having a bit of a chat but the same kind of dialogue is impossible on twitter due to the small character limit and the fact that you cant see a "thread" of responses.

As I said, I dont think every twitter user is self important, there will be some who use it instead of facebook and for businesses and entertainment acts etc it is a very good way of advertising/ promoting yourself, its just a small number who feel the need to post much more than 2.3 times a day  and who do so to update on every detail of their uneventful day- for instance, you say you use it to keep in touch with mates which is obviously fair enough (personally i think facebook is vastly better for it but then if your mates dont like it theres not much that can be done!), but then i'll bet you keep each other up to date with actual important events and have a bit of banter, as opposed to reading update after update about "got to get paper in", "too cold, turning up heating", "think i'll watch bargain hunt now" etc- these people, and people like ladyarse, are the ones i think are self important wankers, plenty other people with twitter accounts are fine!

Anyway, back to the banner discussion

I don't care what our new resident IT Geek Antgel says - Twatter is 99.999% full of deluded self-important arseholes and not much more.

Good stuff lads.

I was thinking about the flag last night whilst reading this thread.
There was talk eariler about getting it into the ground without the stewards taking it.

I had an idea for another flag...which now now counter the counter flag! :?

How about another flag which reads "In Arsene we Trust!"
The steward would allow that.

So as the team enter the field of play you rip off the leading 'T', which was stuck on in velcro, to obviously read "In Arsene we rust!"
