As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Agreed. To be honest, I'm not against playing Chesney for footballing reasons - it's the principle of fielding a player the manager doesn't consider a first teamer for a cup final because of some bizarre cup goalkeeper rule.
If I was Cech, and considering moving to Arsenal, I'd think twice if I was going to be benched for cup finals. These are the moments in a players career that you work hard for and remember long after you've retired.
Absolutely agree - the concept of signing a top player but then telling him that he wont be playing in cup finals is bizarre at the best of times but even more so in a club that isn't winning leagues either

There must have been at least 10000 fans outside the east stand for much of the night!

I know, having to leave the house in disguise now. Nothing worse than being trolled on the internet.

I thought playing Fabianski in last season's final made some sense, as he had put in some decent performances in earlier rounds, but there is no logical sense to play Szczesney in the final. The man is an absolute liability and could cost us the final. Its funny that in a season when Szczesney was caught smoking, and his dad came out slagging off the rest of the team, how could Wenger even dream of starting Szczesney, but I find little sense in most things Wenger does these days.
Wenger will play Szczesny because he was sub in last years final (despite being our number 1) and he's already committed to this ludicrous cup goalkeeper nonsense.
The undeniable truth is that it's not a decision driven by football and what's best for helping Arsenal win a trophy, but a more wishy washy desire to keep people happy and keeping his word.
It's that lack of ruthlessness and focus on winning trophies that sums Wenger up. He's not driven by trophies and is more interested in people development and I'm not sure that's what a club of our standing needs anymore if we're going to kick on.
Hard to rebut the argument that it shows he cares less about winning trophies than in 2002.
We will ship at the back (especially if he ridiculously plays Szczesney), Benteke's in form, and Delph can pop up with a goal from the edge of the area.
But Walcott and Sanchez can run their defence ragged, and I think Cazorla will produce a top performance for us.
