Whilst I admire his achievements, his touchline antics get right on my tits and I thought he was like a little kid last night. Hopefully they'll draw someone like Leeds in one of the cups soon so fat boy Steve Evans or some other such lower league pub manager can stick one on him !
He is very clever and knows exactly what he is doing to appeal to the fans. Honestly amazed I haven't heard him make any references to Justice for the 96 yet.

The Exeter cup game was a prime example - they have injuries but there was no need to make 11 changes and field such a piss-poor side. He did it because he knows people will say in a year's time if he's done well "look where Liverpool were a year ago, snatching a draw with League Two Exeter" and because he has got this bugbear about the lack of winter break.

Did fantastic work at Dortmund but last night we should have put 5 or 6 on them they were so wide open and offering that little protection to their two lumbering centre-halves.

What concerns me is that in the last 5 away matches we have picked up 5 points out of a possible 15 and conceded 7 in the last two games alone. This run of form needs to improve.

Also a concern is how we can't close a game out, last night ended much like the City game around Christmas when just like last night we couldn't keep hold of the ball and resorted to passing possession straight back to the opposition inviting the next wave of attacks. Against City we got away with it (just), the pattern was identical.

I think we just have to accept that this team defends woefully, was it the Brazil of the last 70's that relied on simply smashing 4 goals in to counter the 2 goals conceded in each game? This Arsenal side is much the same.

If you can't possess the ball for periods, it is a problem, more so away from home. seriously missed cazorla and coquelin in this game. Ramsey and Flamini aren't on the same page.

Last 3 trips to Anfield, concede injury time or 90th minute goals in each to let a lead slip. Wenger must be livid at it happening again. Only slight silver lining being that City and the scum dropped points too.

The last 3 times I've gone to the pub I've left my wallet and phone on the counter when I went for a piss and they got stolen. I'm livid. Still, I'm off to the pub again tonight and I'm going to do the EXACT same thing :barscarf:

Criticism of Ozil is slightly harsh. There was a point in the second half when the ball came out to him and there was an opportunity for a break but within a couple of seconds he had 5 Liverpool players within 10 yards of him, two hacking at his ankles, no Arsenal player close to him but he won a throw in. I think he substitution was to protect him from injury. At least when Carzola is playing we've got to outstanding ball players for the opposition to think about. Thought Campbell was motm, he was outstanding as was Giroud. Ramsey was good until we decide to protect a win rather than confirm it. Arteta for Ozil handed them the momentum, I was hoping he'd bring on the Ox to play in that position. Our options in midfield were limited from the bench. Strangely, I think having Rosicky available could be key to our title hopes as he still has the quality to change matches for us.

Hi Gunners,
watched the game last night at a german Pub. Thought it was a great game of Football from both sides. Of course due to my BVB history I follow what Klopp and his Team is doing at LFC. You can't compare LFC with BVB but I think Klopp is trying to do kind of the same:
a) collect the Fans 100% behind the squad and the Club
b) get the players belive into his style of Football
and there is were Problems are starting. At Dortmund he had more or less all the time of world to develop a 'no name' squad into a two time national Champion and CL Finalist. At LFC or any other PL Club he will not have that time AND the quality of the contenders is way bigger. On the other Hand he and his Team has more Money to spend to built a squad :rubchin: as a side Story....
Back to the game, thought Arsenal did well and after taking the 3:2 lead they should have won it, but for some reasons the Counter attacking did not work and of course a late Goal was what Klopp was looking for  reminded me when BVB played against Schalke 04 and 3:0 down finishing 3:3, was kind of a bottle opener....

Think Arsenal is in a good Position of winning the league, after dropping out against Barca in the CL you can even more Focus on the national race, wish you well :barscarf: !

Cheers,
Thomas

I thought that the goal aside, Ramsey should have been better. He constantly abandons sitting deep and as a result, Liverpool had a lot of time in between midfield and defense to have pops at goal.

Also, everyone knows how Klopp sets his teams out to play (except Wenger), so why not ping some balls long our forwards? The only time that we were doing this was when they ran out of gas and weren't pressing anymore which was pretty pointless then.

When Arteta came on, I cringed. I'd rather see anyone rather than him as he doesn't offer anything anymore. In was inviting so much pressure already as many have pointed out, but at the same time Allen seems to be able to run onto his volley without any pressure. The only one pressuring him was Bellerin, when it should have been a midfielder.

Ultimately, we should have taken maximum points here. Poor in-game management, in my eyes.

When I saw how far forward Ramsey was playing as a "holding midfielder" at the start, I thought fucking hell we will get over run here. And we were for about 20 minutes until Ramsey got a bit more disciplined and the Mousers ran out of steam a bit. We had a good spell in the second half but ultimately Wenger's decision to sit back and try and defend the lead was what fucked us. We are not good enough at the back (particularly with the Big German Coward there - more on him in a minute :x  ) to do that. Taking Ozil off was disastrous - he was the only player capable of retaining possession for more than a couple of seconds. Gibbs offered nothing but losing the ball, Ox looks like a broken man incapable of making the right decision, and Arteta is just past it - sad but true.

Thought Campbell was very good but he still makes a lot of silly mistakes and responds to the ball rather than anticipates things. But his touch and pass for Ramsey's goal were brilliant, top class. Bit concerned that his engine runs out so often (how many times does he stop and just start blowing? :| ) and is totally gone by 70-75 mins. Is he not fully fit? :|

I note the Giroudzema-haters still can't bring themselves to give him any real credit. He was man of the match by a country mile last night. Fought for and won everything. Was kicked and hacked constantly and kept giving it everything. Showed for every scrappy shit pass from midfield and and challenged for and won every header. He held up the ball well and passed well. And his second goal was superb. I don't get the hate on here. Yeah, no shit, he's not Henry, he's not Bergkamp. He has no pace. We all know that. But some of the ludicrous shite on here (calling him lazy after last night's performance is mong level rubbish tbh) is way OTT. He's slow, he has days where he can't hit anything. All current PL strikers do - remember superstar Rooney went 8million hours without scoring? But Giroud is hitting the goals and often doing so whilst isolated in the shit 4-5-1 system. He ain't a world beater or a top class striker but credit where it's due. Why hate a player that gives his all, even if his all is limited?

Now onto my old mate, The Big German Coward. :x Yet again, an oportunity for him to throw himself in front of a shot and maybe get a leg on it, maybe get a block, and maybe save the day and help us win a huge game, and he does what? He flinches back with a look of pure fright etched on his face, hands up to his chest like a bitch, as if the ball was a fucking live grenade covered in Kerry Katona's infected vadge juice.  How can a grown man (never mind a professional footballer) be so afraid of getting hit by a football? Christ. Look at some old footage of TA6 and Uncle Bouldy throwing themselves in front of absolute rockets to make a block. THAT's what CH's should do. Not cowardly turn away in fear. :banghead: :x

Anyfucks, we threw away a hard earned win and I'm still pissed off about it.

DB10 Ramsey didn't need to play as a holding midfielder though - that's what Flamini is meant to do in that role. Ramsey needs to play box-to-box especially away from home otherwise the ball rarely reaches ozil in a decent position and if it does we don't have enough men forward.

Girouds goal was brilliant - although it made up for missing an open goal from 4 yards and his net contribution against Liverpool is still -2 points this year after fluffing from 6 yards at our place! Put in a good shift yesterday to be fair. That said imagine pace up top against those two lumbering oafs.

Should have been Walcott or Campbell or even Iwobi up front at the end to offer something on the counter. No use saying "but they can't hold the ball up like Giroud" because we were just whacking hopeless balls up and even if he did get hold of it we were sat so deep there wasn't anybody else to bring into play.

Just woeful game management.
