Saka hid out on the touch line for the whole second half. It was Wenger levels of self harm to hand him the ball for the penalty, should have been Jesus who initially had the ball who took it.

Awful awful display, not a single player took ownership of that game once it started to go south. Partey when we needed him most in the last 2 game has tanked, really hope we bin him off in the summer.

Sad but most likely true Rodders.

Ohhhh! Great the Banter has started already on social media and all the usual pundits.... neville crowing like a C.U.N.T

Smith Rowe should ask to leave immediately. If Vieira is constantly preferred then you have no future here son
I know, how the fuck that Cocktail Stick gets to come on Before ESR....

Anyone remember the Gooner fanzine front page, "Blown It!!" ??
Cos we have and in very similar circumstances!
I'm not going to trouble myself by watching another game this season!!
We've had a great season, but so disappointing not to see it out til the end.
We can moan about VAR etc (and I have no doubt lee mason was on the take)
We have however only ourselves to blame, 2-0 leads blown back to back!
With hindsight however I think the turning point was the defeat at home to Shiteh, those are the games that win titles.
Shiteh don't look like dropping a point, Brighton, their only possible banana skin.
Our last 2 performances, suggest a proper bum holing at Shiteh!
Goodnight lads! I'm pished and have to drive to feckin Dublin at 3.00am tomorrow morning!

Just another Wenger lite team. Gutless when it matters and back to the sole ambition being a top four finish and finishing above the Scum. It's what turned me off 15 years ago and it's no different now. We are one level up from "Spursy"

Best we can hope for is a performance for the ages at City and then win everything else. I still think someone just might do us a favour against City but that's a long shot.
City will definitely drop points on the way in, unfortunately so will we and they we we are wobbling at the moment - lots of them.
Wrong. They won’t. Only once they’ve actually won the League.
As much as it pains me to say it I agree with that. They know how to do this, they have enough quality players to do it and they are absolutely cruising atm

If I managed a pro team, I would tell whoever took the penalty to have a proper run-up and smash it as hard as they could at the goal. They are only 8 yards out after all.

I hate those short run-ups to the ball, you always fear for the worst. If the keeper guesses right he's got a chance of saving it. OK, Kane missed in the WC but he doesn't ever piss about with his strikes.

So frustrating. At 2-0 I was thinking go for a third instead of believing how wonderful you are, because someone will invariably f*** it up, and you might concede. They say 2-0 is the dangerous lead for that very reason. And that's what happened. And you can't chase a goal late on by passing sideways on the halfway line.

No excuses. None whatsover.

And to think after 10mins we were looking to increase the goal difference.
So disappointing

Pressure choke. We were never realistically in the title race.
It is beginning to resemble 2007/8

12 yards
Fair point. If it was only 8 yards he'd have scored. But it still pisses me off big-time.

How long is the great rebuild going to take?

Emery moved on something like 15 players. Arteta must have done a similar number now.

Problem is that there is still a soft as shit core of the team and players that aren't up to it - Gabriel, Holding, Tomiyasu, Clive, Partey and Odegaard (when it comes to the key moments), and we've brought in more lightweights like Vieira.

Not a single leader in the whole squad. Odegaard doing everything to confirm what a fairweather player he is

Bit harsh but somewhat true.

Will give benefit of the doubt if we come up short this season but if next is all about top 4 finish again I will come over to the dark side again.

Other teams fans just don't get how tedious it was to lose in the CL 1st KO round SEVEN seasons on the trot, usually by getting torn a new one by Barca or Bayern.

If the Qatari's get Merchandise utd and Newcastle do what we expect with CL football then its hard to see things getting easier next season onwards.

The writing was on the wall once Saliba got injured, I don't really get the Kiwior signing, if we need a 3rd choice CB why sign a 4th, Holding would get nowhere near City's squad.

The most shameful, weak display of last season for me was the surrender at Newcastle. The perfect illustration of a leaderless team

Just glanced at the starting line up and only Nuno Tavares has been moved on (and only on loan). White, Gabriel, Xhaka, Saka and Odegaard were all starters that day and all anonymous. Ring any bells?

Absolutely nothing has changed apart from the additions of Jesus and Zinchenko. But crucially neither of those two are going to sure up a 2-1 win when it matters most

The fucking arrogance of Partey to try and flick the ball up out of a challenge outside his penalty box when 2 nil up away from home with the team in a title challenge.

Bin that sick note fuck off in the summer, bottler who went missing in both games
this week
