I suppose when you've had no issues with them being owned and bankrolled by a war criminal for twenty years, why would you bother will a bit of 'clear and obvious' fraud?mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 4:29 pmI'll just add in this bit too

I think when the mafia did that kind of thing it was always called "money laundering" by the cops and the media.

Or, they'll be in the clear by Monday tea-time. The case will be dismissed after twenty minutes as the Premier League officials will need to get to the airport for their all-expenses paid month in Abu Dhabi.rodders999 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 2:20 pmHearing begins Monday, they'll be in the conference by Tuesday lunch time![]()

Yeah! Cheaty will put all the blame on Arteta... And so he's get a season's Touch-line Ban and We'll get relegated. Whilst all PGMOL & All The Prem Refs start reffing games with Rolexes on their wrists and Lambo's in the Car Parks.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 2:56 pmBeat me to itPerryashburtongroves wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 2:34 pmOr, they'll be in the clear by Monday tea-time. This is a fairly decent explanation of where everything is at the moment. A few things show just how fucked up football is; firstly, that the whistle-blower is in a witness protection programme, secondly, that it's clear that this is being influenced at a political level thus indicating that there is, indeed, foreign governmental manipulation of the Premier League and finally that Cheaty's owner was a lying cúnt to Cas. I'm not sure which way this is going to go but if it does lead to them being found guilty then they need to be expelled from the league and that Abu Dhabi lot banned indefinitely from any involvement in English football. If they get away with it then the Premier League needs to be dissolved because they aren't fit for purpose.

There is more chance of that than Cheaty being properly punished.

Brace yourselves for the greatest fucking whitewash con job in the history of everything.

Either City or the Premier League are guilty here
It is inevitable that City are going to get away with it, the interesting thing will be how the Premier League get away with it.
Probably will have to work with each other to achieve that.
Anyway partly because of this trial I’m not really taking the season too seriously and it’s a bit refreshing to be a bit detached from it really.

The PL have to be confident of 'winning' it, whatever that may mean! If they lose then it's likely they have to pay City's legal bill which is tens of millions of pounds......which could bust the PL?? Maybe the Euro super league is closer than we realised!?
I reckon they'll be found guilty of some charges and get a fine of £10-20m and Mansoor will piss himself laughing and offer to pay on the spot like Sting did as 'the Face' in Quadrophenia!!

If Cheaty get away with it, I wonder what the reaction of other PL teams will be. Will they just stick their heads in the sand and carry on as normal? Will they call Cheaty's bluff and say fuck you and threaten to leave? Or will they fuck off the PL? I just don't believe that if Cheaty get away with it or get a slap on the wrist other teams will be happy to let it go. Unless the corruption is so rife they have no choice but to pull their necks in or as you say TC, for the big clubs a Euro super league might not be that far away. But the bribery and corruption will be far, far worseTeeCee wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2024 8:19 pmThe PL have to be confident of 'winning' it, whatever that may mean! I've said since day one they will get a negotiated administrative "punishment" which will be a fine and some kind of temporary ban on transfers or some such shite, maybe a back office director or two will be fired or more likely be allowed to resign.... but the two things they deserve they will not get hit with, and that's a points deduction and removal of the titles they cheated to obtain.
Its all about the PL being seen to be tackling the corruption but they will do it in such a way that the PL product isn't hurt, because at the end of the day its all about the money.

I'm with you on that - if citeeh get away with this, then AFC and the other teams should leave the PL and join european super league cos this will be a farce. I'm as anti european super league as anyone is, but as soon as the PL punished everton and forest they set a precedent, and if they dont back that up then their credibility and the credibility of the premier league is shot to shite forever, and I would bail on it tbh

So Cheaty get found guilty on All 115 Charges... a HUGE fine, which as you say Mansoor woysit laughs aloud at whilst pulling a cool £30 million from his Thawb and they get a point deducted for each charge (115) to be deducted at 1 point per season for the next 115 years.

City will get some sort of punishment, that has to happen or the whole principle of PSR/FFP is undermined. I have seen some of the leaked emails and documents relating to dubious sponsorship deals with Etihad. They are widely available if you look hard enough.
I recogn there will be a negotiated settlement, say a 20-40 points deduction with a fine, which might impact City for one season, but given they could be relegated they will take begrudgingly shut up and be happy that they got off so lightly. The PL will claim they are doing their jobs properly and thats the last we will hear of it.
If it does go nuclear and City are relegated, then expect them to get the big hitting lawyers in and this will drag out for years.
Some of the comments here are funny, City won't sue the hand the feeds them ie the PL or expect them to cover their legal costs, its all about how much they can get away with and damage limitation. The PL generates billions in revenues these days from TV deals alone.
