looking back through the thread, many (most?) fans realised he'd lost something around 2009/2010. Should have gone after the 8-2 in 2011. But here we are, seven years later. Yes, three FA Cups - lovely. But they're not what they were, are they. In its peak, the FA Cup winners almost held equal prestige as the League champions. Nowadays, it's just a grand consolation prize.

I need to say this and go agianst the great majority but it's time for Wenger to go. I'm tired of his stuborn attitude towards transfers and the costant refusal to sort out contracts before the time, for not building on our strongest team. We are always playing catch up replacing players lost and have never truly replaced the defence and midfield of old.

We need change I would love wenger just to get a proper keeper of which we have not had since Seaman. Why does he refuse to buy experience even if it's for a few seasons?

We had the best out of Wenger time for change. Now we need to get a billionare takeover and a new manager. Even if Wenger had the money he would still be getting kids and unknowns. I'm tired of unknowns with potential give me names to get excited about. Not since Bergkamp have a felt that thrill from a signing and excitement that the paying fans deserve.

Thank you Arsene for giving me the best years of Arsenal but it's time for a new beggining. You can only re-build teams a number of times before you start ruining the foundations and I fear that is whats happening to the club we love. :(

And that is why I hate it when people slag the man off. He is Arsenal FC in my opinion and without him, we would not challenge for the EPL IMO.

Anyone who doubts him is a real disappointment.
This quote from page 4 always makes me laugh........then angry :banghead:

Reading back through this thread it 's fascinating seeing all the varying opinions from the start of the thread changing!

Me, I wanted him gone at the end of 2008/9

- Some really insipid performances in the CL SF against Man U
- The crazy FA Cup decision with Arshavin against Chelski.
- Disgraceful capitulations against both Hull and Spuds at home, The league form was patchy as fuck with only AA coming on kick starting it somewhat which Wenger never really wanted to buy
- Persevering with shite like Almunia, Silvestre, Eboue, Bentdner, Song & Denilson and his crazy decisions to play players in the wrong positions
- We were crying out for a tough, no nonsense midfielder to compliment the fancy dan midgets we had in that team and Wenger wouldn't address it

Who remembers back in the early 2000's seeing the headlines about Wenger going to Real Madrid and bricking it? Amazing how things can change eh?

Right now, I reckon we should just ask Real Madrid or PSG or whoever to offer him a role stuffing envelopes or sweeping the floor or something.

Strange thing after the City game, he kept the players in the changing room for half an hour telling them they are playing for their Arsenal Careers.
Turns out that no-one was allowed to leave until Wenger had managed to zip his jacket up.

Kos tried to help but caught his finger and started crying

Wenger just said this:

“When you have just the trousers on it’s easy to take the trousers off as well. But when you are naked completely you have to find the shirt to try to put it on again and dress normal again.”

He should be put in a home.

Souness just point blank said Wenger will not leave a winner. Its about time some reality was spoken in the media. To many fairweather Wenger fans still hold out hope that Wenger would get a dream send off with a league title or even more far fetched, the champions league. However as Souness says, its just not going to happen. What reason other than belief in petty idealism would Wenger go out a winner?

And what really annoys the F out of me. Is the expectation that Arsenal fans will give him a respectable send off when it does happen. Hang on, why should we reward a man who is putting us all though this misery and angst? As far as im concerned, a respectable send off should not be unconditional. If Wenger wants to stay on and compound the misery, then he forgoes any right to a happy send off. The expectation Arsenal fans should send Wenger off in style is one of the reasons we are getting shit - expecting reward & praise without results.

ok so the senile old fool is not going to resign....but to be fair no manager does do they!

at any other big club the fact is that Wenger would have been sacked, so why not at Arsenal ?
although I have been very much in the Wenger Out camp for the past 5/6 years, prior to that I always suspected that it was Kroenke who was and was going to be the biggest problem going forward at Arsenal. Of course there have already been signs - the contract extension in 2014 was bad, but the deal last summer was ludicrous. The FA Cup wins really have not done us any favours. However would Wenger have got the new contracts without them? Probably in 2014, and possibly last summer even.

Kroenke is more than happy for Arsenal to just tick over and if that means mid table mediocrity then so be it.
Kroenke can point to a cup final, being competitive in Europe, 6th out of 20 in the league, and still selling out pretty much every game as being ok for Wenger to continue. It is all on the Milan game for me - if we lose and Wenger STILL does not get sacked, then I don't anticipate him going anywhere.
Surely this can't happen, can it ?

Moh Haider - "I refuse to disrespect a man that has given the club some amazing moments.

You don’t throw away 20+ years of service because things have turned sour.
There’s a dignified & classy way of doing things & that’s what I hope is done"
#RespectWenger

I think people like this deserve to be highlighted for the idiots they are. This guy would honestly lie on the ground, so Wenger would have a mat to walk on, what a bellend.

The highlighted bit is exactly why I wouldn't hire the likes of Henry or Viera as the next manager. These type of supporters would use exactly the same line if/when it all goes wrong.
