As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
We backed off a similar situation a few years ago when Ronald de boer was going to take Ajax to a tribunal and go on strike to force a move to us. Wenger didn't want to get dragged into that bullshit and walked away immediately but times and desperation changes things I guess.
Anyway it has to be noticed that it appears that the tribunal panel came down in favour of the club 100% of the time even whilst stating that the clubs were wrong in some cases - what hope has Suarez got if logic like that is applied Personally I don't understand this anyway - a clause stating implicitly that a player has a set release fee is either there in full view for everyone or it isn't there at all imo cos implied meanings won't cut the ice with a case involving a club as powerful as the victims Mind you what kind of clause allows a player to discuss personal terms with the buying club even though there is no agreement between the two clubs on a transfer fee ?
Still have a feeling that this all a bluff and smokescreen - wait until 1st september and then we will have economic value, we tried but could not get player a b c d e or f. The other clubs dont want to sell. Best squad assembled, diaby is like a new signing.

Roll-on 2017
True
Wenger is desperately trying to sign a big name and splash BIG money coz he knows he is more loathed now than loved....the desperate acts of a desperate man
Oh! Wenger!
He ain't waving
He's a drowning
Throw him (Take your pick: Eboue, Almunia, Flappy, Klingon)
And let the fuckers drown.
im concerned we are still not being linked with any ball winning DM's, or DM's full stop. fellani, isnt and isnt what we need and is overrated and not being linked anymore. even last year we were being linked with that french dm who had attitude problems, now its silence on that front.
we are in desperate need of a quality striker clearly but still need that dm, not to mention a gk and possibly another cb. yet we are only being lined with forwards and overpriced midget wingers that are not a priority.

Oi !!! DB isn't overpriced - pint of half murphy's and cider every friday and a bag of chips and it's a done deal!
Quite interesting to get the other perspective - as hard as that is for many on here - most of them want him gone, most think he wont suit our style of play, and a quite valid point - if we couldnt do anything with RVP in form what would Suarez bring. To be fair i think we have goal scoring in us already but the back 3rd needs massive improvement, that's where i'd be spending.
To me, what we lack is leadership and personality. At this level the mental side is every bit as important. We NEED experienced players that demand respect and dominate with their intensity - no surprise that without a Vieira, Adams, Henry (through pure class) and even Keown we've done nothing for years. We're too meek overall.
Firstly I think the rest of our team now is somewhat stronger than 2011/12 - Cazorla makes a huge difference, having Wilshere back (especially with a full pre-season under his belt) is a huge positive and we actually did some defending last year. Will one player turn us into title winners? No - but if we signed a top class striker now we'd be twice the team we were in that complete farce of a season.
Secondly the Scousers only "want him gone" now that it's painfully obvious even to those blinkered pricks that he's absolutely desperate to get out of that shithole and that in reality it's nigh on impossible for the club to keep him if somebody comes in with a serious offer.

Yeah in 11/12 we actually scored more but conceded more than we did in 12/13.
I thought the Pepe Reina deal was telling. Liverpool wanted his wages off the bill so money clearly is a bit of a problem. How long can they refuse the sort of cash we are offering? is it just the usual face saving excercise or are they seriously willing to hang on to him?

And how long before their American owners override Rodgers and take the cash?
They're probably stalling hoping for Real Madrid's interest to materialise
