Wenger's comments in the press today are very intelligent - if you don't see through his bullshit, that is.
By saying that no clubs reaching the QFs is a "massive disappointment for English football", he's essentially saying: "Look, every PL club is on the same level. It's not just Arsenal struggling in Europe, it's all the English clubs. We're no worse than the rest of them, honest".
Wenger must have thought Christmas had come early when all the other British clubs were eliminated by the same stage as us. And now he's phrased those comments so that people aren't talking about Arsenal's poor performance in the tournament, but they're analysing 'England's' poor performance in the tournament.
Like any politican (or in this case, wannabe-politician), you can read him like a book.

Well, whatever. But if he is right and the Premiership is sliding (Chelsea won the fucking thing last season and ManUre were unlucky to go out this time) then why the hell is his team currently sitting in 5th position? Load of rubbish. Smokescreens. Take the attention away from his own failings.
The PL has been sliding for years apparently, the media jump on any chance to tell us so. Remember the fuss last year when United and Citeh didn't get out of their groups? They shut up soon enough about the decline of English football when Chelsea went and won the fucking thing.
England's record from 2005-09 in producing 6 out of 10 finalists (2 winners) was phenomenal and by comparison even 2010-12 where they produced a runner-up and a winner is a decline.

Whilst we all want to focus on getting good performances for the remainder of the season, and try to make top 4, we know the squad, lack of leaders, tactics that are one dimensional, and inability to defend will mean this is v. Unlikely
But what can we do to change it for next season ?!?
It will not be changed by the board or through Wenger deciding to go.... It is up to the fans !

In my opinion, and I know this sounds a bit wacky even for me, but I believe that we def have the basis of a title winning side We have proper defenders but dont do defensive coaching or shape We have quality midfielders but lack a midfield enforcer plus the formation isnt working Up front we lack a real quality top of the range striker who will make the difference when the team plays bad - if we had such a player alongside podolski or even giroud or possibly even wally in a 4-4-2 system then we wouldnt be far off imo
I dont think that there are many Gooners out there who disagree with the suggestion that a better tactical formation/plan allied with proper coaching would make this team a lot better than it is now - that for me suggests that CIC isnt the whole problem but certainly the biggest part of it
