The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Oh yes, he wanted to build a team around him so badly that he upped and retired.

Are you seriously on a windup?

Phil Jones is one of the most overrated players ever. He is built up to be some big thing because he is English. No coincidence he was part of a United team that got caught out a lot.

Over-rated ?? I dont think anyone over-rates him because everybody knows how shite he really is  I still say that smalling has the ingrediants to be a good player but phil jones is a lumbering ox with no redeemable assets and how he retains/retained the support of so many manure fans baffles me :?

Ah, yes. World Cup winning Mesut Özil is shite. What we need is Phil Jones!

Sure, he's shit but...y'know...he's English! :barscarf:

Bloody hell...In the last few pages we've had the illustrious names of Joey Barton, Fred and Phil Jones mentioned!! :D
It's ruining my recent optomism :(
Not sure which one of these useless fuckers I'd most hate to see in an Arsenal shirt most!!!

I'd take Jones over Verm, as the latter is slow, injury prone, old cant play DMC and has a year left. An exchange would favour us I reckon.

BTW the Nastastic to Arsenal rumour has to be the most made up bollocks so far. Yep, City to sell one of the best upcoming centrebacks in the world to a rival.

What does Messi have to do with Cavani's WC performances?

Messi plays for Argentina, Cavani for Uruguay.

Good point. I was thinking Suarez and writing Messi.

Can't say I'm too disappointed about him not coming.

I think we should go for Mats Hummels.
Fuck Balotelli. Absolute moron. Delighted we didn't sign him tbh, mate. He is not THAT good that he can justify all the excess bullshit the attention starved media whore brings with him. He's poison to a dressing room. :x

My souces (Metro, this morning 8) ) say the Khedira deal is still on.
Khedira would be an excellent signing. I think with Rodriguez going to Real (yes, I know they don't play the same role) it might have become a more distinct possibility. They could recover some of that cash.

Hummels will probably end up at Manure but I would like to see him here.

Wtf is today fantasy Tuesday or what, Hummels,Pogba what next Messi,Ronaldo? I hear Buffon wants to be 3rd choice goalie at Arsenal.

We can afford all but 2 of the players mentioned but I'd like to know on what planet you see AW even contemplating any of them :rubchin:
