What's the latest GR?
Is it safe to go out today?
Or will the planet disintegrate at the news of Brexit?....

Best you watch your weight then Rob , all that food in your attic maybe an Anderson shelter in your garden in case the sky falls towards your head. At least your neighbours will know where to go to borrow a cup of sugar.
I expect the pound to fall because the money people know that once the dust settles and we begin to see the benefits it will go up again and they can make a few more bob, just ask Mr Soros the greatest manipulator of them all.
Whether i personally will be worse off , I don't know , but I learned to live on my feet a long time ago and I doubt that it will be anything like the armageddon being promised by Carney , Hammond et al.

BTW :- All this sunshine has been great for my allotment . Just need my bow and arrow to go out and get some meat to go with the veg I've grown.

I used to feel like we should remain, in a better the devil you know feeling.

But I think it's so complicated and with so much of the information on both sides being pure propanganda, it's hard to tell.

We should have teamed up with another EU country France or Spain italy and just demanded huge changes, or force them to just keep single market parts but allow us to opt out the shit we dont like.

Germany seem to me to do the best out the EU? with dominating export for high value goods and tech or is that a missconception.
My German mate tells me they really should raise the living wage in Germany as it kills manufacturing in the smaller EU states so they can never (compete) improve thier own living standards by getting on the first step which is making things like cars etc.

Going on our own is ballsy, if we wanted back in later how big a ransom would it cost

Don't tell everybody or else they will all want some.

Anyway there's nothing like a bit of mixy stew.

Can't help but suspect that there is more than a little hint of manipulation in this. It's an exact paralell to the city reaction following the referendum result . Carney says it's bad just like last time best drop the pound's value , Make it harder for the fools that didn't vote the way we wanted especially just as the school holidays get started..
The pounds value is dropping because as things stand, we have more than a 50% probability of a hard Brexit happening. Sterling is merely reflecting this. The Bank of England governor isnt harming families going on hols into continental Europe, those that voted Brexit did it themselves.

I’m in Spain right now, food and booze is quite cheap but only a few years ago our spending power was much stronger. If we get a hard Brexit this is only the tip of the iceberg. A weak currency translates into a weak economy. But having gone from the top of the G7 in terms of growth, to the bottom in less than 5 years we already know that.

Brexiteers are like a cult - they always have to blame someone else for the problems that THEY have created.
the backlash against them will be brutal.

Such a comment goes to show that the remain camp have not understood the reasons for the result and are making no effort to do so.

It used to be said that there was a north / south divide in England but it has crystallised into London/ home counties versus the rest c/w Scotland and Ireland in parts.

It has long been felt that there is no appreciation of the way non city dwellers are living and their difficulties . The impression given is one of I'm alright Jack , just lie back and think of England as long as we are happy , sod you.

On this forum I have spoken about the C.A.P and C.F.P the industries that have been shut down by the E.U policies , the impression before the vote was that nobody in power cared and that the way things have gone in the ""negotiations "" seems to bear this out .
various polls are trying for a re-run they might be surprised at the result if they got their way . The feeling has hardened in many areas and the hope that you can keep taking votes until you get the result you want needs rejecting or else the whole point of democracy is defeated.
