I get the feeling that Wenger will hang around like a bad smell with the media going to him for comments about everything, expect him to be especially irritating around bad spells.

Let's hope we get off to a flyer so he has no opportunity, this should be the first season in a while where the team is ready for day one so no excuse not to.
I don’t have a problem with Wenger commentating on all things Arsenal from next season. He’s had to put up with ex players saying stuff during his tenure. He is an Arsenal fan so why shouldn’t he, and as the squad evolves away from the Wenger era why should any of them take any notice of what he has to say, good or bad.
He has quite the podium from which to air his views and opinions and will always have the ear of the media and the AKB's - So, No he is not (just) an Arsenal Fan - which is what you seem to be implying. He is someone with intimate knowledge of the club at all levels and should show respect for the club, the (new) manager and the players etc - a club that is better off without him, a club that can regain it's pride and (hopefully) the 'Class' it once had, now that his despotic ways and failing over-long tenure has been brought to an end.

As someone ( and quite a few others on the various media etc) have said - he will be hanging around to offer his pearls of non-wisdom - he was a busted flush 10 seasons ago and still is....his time is done - and If, IF he truly 'loves' Arsenal FC as a Fan - which he claims to be - he should just smile and say positive things, but we all know his ego is bent out of shape and far too Big to do so, he will try and be cryptic and when in the mood make non-complimentary comments about the new manage. Wenger was "Sacked", "Let Go", "Dumped", "Fired" and as he recently admitted 'still in shock' if he had 'left' (of his own volition) he would not be in any kind of shock, because he would have considered the outcome of his decision to leave and be familiar with the feelings around that decision. He may well still be considering what he will do next - whilst earning 6.5% on his millions in a Swiss Bank (and good luck to him) BUT he needs to Shut the Fuck Up, at least until till the new manager and staff, along with the new set-up and way of doing things is settled and firmly in place, then and only then should he voice any opinions on anything Arsenal, and even then be careful not to try and imply he would do things differently... and so insinuate his way is or would be better.

Wenger can FuckOff - He has left a mess behind him and anyone who actually believes he hasn't is as delusional as he is.

Some of the media are suggesting he may go back to Japan........it's his level! Mind you, if it happens I fully expect him to come out and say he has decided to go back to the country he 'feels most at home in' or something like that, claiming he has turned down offers from many big European clubs!!

He'll take the safe option, even if P$G came calling which they didn't, same as he took the safe option staying at Arsenal where he knew the board would allow him to stay as long as he towed the 'austerity' line, he knew if he went to RM or Bayern he would likely get found out, of course in his mind this was all about loyalty to Arsenal..

Indeed, no pressure, no repercussions for failing (or obtaining the base line objective of champions league qualification ) allowed to do what he liked, with no interference from the board, not answerable for mistakes being repeated time and time again - just trot out that stability is what is needed :)

Wonderful how he got the team up to win six consecutive matches to win the FA cup each time.
Beating Preston, Lincoln, Sutton and Soton along the way.
Villa and Hull finals too.
Bastard got lucky.
Though, I have to admit. Wembley and Cardiff FA cup final days out were brilliant, but not thanks to him.
It was because I spent it with mates, toot and beer, and our teams had a stroke of luck in a few of them.
Also Romford Pele's goal, Cazorla free kick wasn't coached.
Our support was immense. We should take credit, not that old cant.

:D :D
(tongue in cheek. Am still on a buzz from victims loss, Stoke going down forever and TOF being SACKED)

Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, 68, is considering a return to Japan to resume his managerial career. (Mail on Sunday)

He might be gone, but the "wenger is the gift that keeps giving" era still lives on -

It seems that managing a swedish pub side to beat a wenger team, makes a guy good enough to get the swansea job ahead of a guy (coleman) who has a great managerial cv (mackems aside)

Think even Coleman would be a bit embarrassed by how highly you’ve sold him!

Great job at Fulham and Wales, tanked everywhere else.

So has he had any proper job offers yet? The PL or one of the top European Leagues, Spain, Italy, Germany or maybe France? :rubchin:

Or is it going to be Japan, China or even the MLS? :barscarf:

Or maybe those in charge at the top Euro clubs & leagues have rumbled him? :blah:

According to the AKB's he's one of the top managers! :barscarf:

Have to agree with every word Herbert. What a day that was! If it had been any other manager but the Wenger of the last decade then EVERYONE on here would have been acclaiming it as one of our greatest FA Cup Final victories. No one gave us a hope that day and we outfought, outplayed and outmuscled the chav. The sight of poor old Holding limping off at the end with a sore back from carrying Costa round in his pocket all afternoon will long stay with me!

It's piss poor when an agenda means people cannot give credit where it is due.

And no, agenda monkeys, that does not make me an AKB or a flip flopper.  I wanted him gone in May 2010 and still wish he had gone then because I cannot help but think what we might have won with a better manager during the last 8 or so years. But there is no denying Wenger was brilliant from 96-06 and is indeed an FA Cup Legend, but it also fair to say he was in terminal decline from probably January 2008 when he failed to strengthen a team that should have won that PL. I've lost a lot of the respect I had for him over the last 5 years or so but I still do not and cannot hate him. For me it always goes back to "why would he quit" (who would? honestly would you?) and so the blame rests squarely for the last decade of underperformance with the Board, with P.Diddy Hollywood initially and then with Gazidis and particularly Kroenke who all could have and should have done their jobs and addressed that underperformance by sacking the manager years ago.
