SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Can you imagine the supermarket sweep if we get to 2nd September with no wins in the league having lost to the scum, and been knocked out of the CL.

Thinking about it if we do lose to the scum and have bought nobody of note, things could well kick off at the end of that game.

I think we'll be hearing that famous old line "We tried hard but there was no value in the market" come September 1st.

I can't believe I allowed myself to think this summer would be any different after Gazidis' warchest trumpeting.

Still, a month to go, plenty of time to snap up Loic Remy!

I like this bit.
“It looks very unlikely that we will have anyone before the Emirates Cup next week because everyone is on tour at the moment and it’s very difficult to get in touch with people.”
It either shows he puts no importance on playing a team together before the season begins, sees no benefit in blending a team in friendlies, just as happy to wait for the last moment, then throw them into a north London derby.
Or no one else is expected.
He could have made moves before everyone went on tour, but he was more interested in his tv work for the U21 tourno, and maybe he has never heard of mobile telephones. Maybe the only communication he trusts is his faithful old fax machine.

Mate, it's a free for all once that new contract gets signed

:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Steve O enough of this bullshit about the bbq........give us the address, date and time so we can organise to be there or else stop with the bbq bullshit - am beginning to think that this bbq is as much of a myth as wenger's transfer spending spree

Steve O , Is there a limit on spending on the BBQ, or do you have a limitless war-chest. ? I hope you are trawling the butchers shops etc looking not just for names but quality in the burgers and sausages etc. Hope you find a butcher with 30 years experience to help make your choices.
You lot are impatient, but you have to understand it is down to the desire of the butcher whether he sells to me or not. I am actually going to be a farmer so that I can concentrate on the cattle I have already rather than spending big in the butcher's shop. Overall I believe that the BBQ will be a fantastic success whether I decide to buy the meat externally or not. Remember there are two markets - one in the high street and the second for the development of our own meat on our fields

if i werent lazy i'd go and find my post from about 2 months ago when this "70m" business was first announced and i said then that it was bullshit and we wouldnt sign anyone. higuian was a show, suarez was a show. we were NEVER in it to get either one, or anyone. this will be a repeating predictable cycle until that french fuck is gone from this club...which looks like not anytime soon. can't wait for the season. out of the EPL title race by December. out of the CL in the first knockout round. crash out of FA cup in the 5th round. struggle to get 4th until the last day of the season. celebrate on the field like they just won the title. :blah: :blah: :blah:

Also ignoring the fact that City managed to sign two players whilst they were on tour. Honestly, it's a fucking shambles the way we take 3 weeks out of our summer for a jolly up over to Asia.

Apparently the £40M+ clause in Suarez's contract only applies to CL clubs
and we aren't eligible till we're through the playoff

That must be one hell of a specific clause if true. We are an entrant to this year's CL as defined by UEFA rules, so they must have specifically worded it to be a club playing in the Group stage?

Where did you hear the rumour ?
