THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Interesting stat following today's games. We're now closer to Wigan who are in the drop zone than we are to ManUre........see he was right all along, we did have to move to the Emirates to compete with the best

Its been like that for weeks now. Honestly, Wenger survives because the modern day CL format rewards underachievers and makes 4th sound like some sort of credible finish. As we've said on here before back in the 80s we had managers who lost their jobs for going without a trophy and only hovering around in the UEFA Cup spots. Wenger is a lucky man that he has an owner who views 4th as a financial achievement because it sure as hell isn't a footballing achievement to crow about

2 wins in a row, not conceded in either of those, brilliant subs choice against Swansea, I'm beginning to believe again, give him another season I say 8)

Doesn't really matter what any of us want, we are peripheral to the decisions made by the board and owner, so I might as well join thhe winning side.......I've officially jumped ship

Interesting comments coming out this morning from Per - seems the back four had their own meeting to review the spuds footage of them not working as a unit.

Most papers are saying 'closed door' 'secret' meetings - which suggests AW had no input....

Which only compounds the error of Wenger's apparent reluctance to allow Bould more time to work specifically with the defence! :banghead: :banghead: I expect that Bouldie had some input at that meeting and subsequently on the training ground in the days following the spurs game, but even if he had nothing whatsoever to do with this improvement, why has it taken so fecking long for the players to realise there was a problem and to resolve to sort it out? :banghead: :banghead:

4th place may not be a trophy flash, but if we finish in the top four this season it will be.......
"Wengers greatest ever achievement".

According to Niall Quinn anyway.

I agree. In 2050, people won't be talking about the Invincibles. They'll all be talking about that brilliant 2012/13 side that finished fourth.

Wenger's lies is also a something that really gets on my man-tits. Also the way he takes us, the fans, as fools I find very degrading. The shit he has said in the past i.e. "when diaby, jack and rosicky are back from injury they will be like new signings". He didnt just say it once neither, he repeated the same shit a season later.

I fuckin hate watching his predictable pre and post match interviews as well. Says the same things every time. Surely he must be able to conjure up alternative sentences to "we lacked a little bit sharpness. We looked physically jaded. We showed great spirit". I feel like I can write down his exact post match comments every week.
