As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

That's only their 2nd defeat in their last 12 home matches. Credit to us, we applied the pressure (as we should) and we got what we deserved. There's no luck about it, it's a willingness to win and passion to succeed.
Great performance.
How about a reality check mate - we looked poor cos we were shit and had very very few players who can claim to have done themselves justice
You need luck to win anything so from that aspect winning a game that we scarcely deserved to win can be classed as somewhat fortunate but I will take that. The one thing that I will take issue with though is this notion that this togetherness and hard work is pulling us through - tonight we3 showed an awful lacking in workrate department and showed little or no courage in possession or in the tackle. We made a shit team, who have less football in them than your local pub team, look way better than they are and daiby, bedtner and nasri in particular should have a long look at themselves
OH FOR ONCE JUST SHUT UP WILL YA!!
So you think we played well then I guess Fact is that nasri hid, diaby and bedtner were so fcuking lazy it was a disgrace and you generally like to keep arshavin on even when he is quiet cos he is liable to pop up with 1 chance and bury it but some of his misses today were woeful. Denilson gets bucket loads of shit on here (some of it deserved I accept) but he is generally more commited and works harder than diaby who gets away practically scot free I dont give a fcuk who agree's or disagree's with me anytime and I will say that denilson put in more effort tonight than diaby and nasri combined whether that is en vogue or not

I was fuming at half time, the half was a complete wind up, persistent fouling, stupid decisions, another pen turned down, a pen for them after a clear offside! it was a joke...another one of our players almost being snapped in half, one poked in the eye then booked...madness! and all they go on about was should Campbell have been sent off! oh piss off!!
second half we were dire for most of it, Diaby and Nasri were dreadful, we lacked imagination and looked tired...BUT WE DONE IT....THATS THE IMPORTANT BIT HERE...WE DONE IT!!
Super Nick with a good goal, that wasnt an easy finish, the ball pinged back at him and he controlled it home beautifully! Love the bloke as ive said before!
If we dont believe we can do it now after that we might aswell just piss off and forget it....Come on Gunners....we can do this!
Im so glad we got the winner, i hate Hull even more after today, what a negative bunch of filthy bastards!

Tbh mate, the "this isnt good enough if we want to win the league" line of argument just isnt holding anymore. It held near the start of the season but now wioth 8(?) games to go I couldnt two shits about the performance, I want points.
yes we were shit for most of the game but to be honest i'm not that fussed. it's the type of result every other team will be praised for, getting a result despite playing crap. and it sets it all up nicely for my 1st game at the grove for about 18months next week.
LDB I never said that this isnt good enough to win a league but I did say that it isnt good enough. It is the performance and lack of courage and commitment that really winds me up cos as you rightly point out these guys are 8 games away from their first league title and they should be flying all over the place instead of strolling about. I cannot believe sometimes when I look at players like average al and look at performances v the chavs and mancs that we are still in with a big shout for this league title but here we are and really all that matters is the 8 games ahead not the 30 games that have already been played - right now we need 100% focus and commitment (and a smidgeon of luck wouldnt go astray either) from the players and if we get it then we can do it but please dont make lame excuses saying that we only looked bad cos hull played well

The response to the posts on this thread suggests its time for you to pipe down on this subject!
No i dont think we played well, especially second half, but there will be days like that, the important thing is we got 3 points, blokes like you are never happy, enjoy it for once!
Diaby and Nasri were well below par today, and Arshavins shooting was dreadful at times, Bendtner did fine, and Arshavin scored a vital goal, as did Bendtner!
The fact is Hull made the game physical, fouled and were given the majority of decisions but we still got 3 points!
IF WE WIN THE LEAGUE IT WILL BE BECAUSE WE HAVE BEEN THE BEST TEAM IN THE DIVISION, NOT BECAUSE OF ANY OF THE EXCUSES YOU GIVE TO OTHER TEAMS!! WE ARE IN THIS RACE WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT
so many gooners in the pub so i was happy. but when that last goal went in.. oh my days
celebrated a scrappy goal like never before with some fella, who it eventually turned out was a match-day regular, who lives locally too. the dream is still alive...

So your definition of 'poor' is...
A team who show mettel and consistent pressure against a team who park 10 buses in front of their goal when their livelyhood depends on what occurs over the next 45 minutes.
We (Arsenal) cannot go out and create the same flair and class as we do in home ties especially when things go pear-shaped in a match (like 10 men being behind the ball for instance) and to finally come away from the match with all 3 points does not point to luck but pure hard work and determination.
It's just not important in the slightest if we're actually better than Chelsea and ManUre - it's totally irrelevant. What's important now is that we're better than West Ham, Birmingham, Wolves, Sp*rs, Fulham, Citeh, Blackburn and Wigan! - if we are, then we might just be champions!
No time for even an ounce of negativity at the moment; it's all hands to the pumps!! Come on you Gunners!

That 2nd half performance was embaressing but i'm ecstatic we won. Westham should be easy Birmingham away will be tough come to think of it our fixture list isn't as easy as people make out
