Excellent performance if you look at the scoreline. However this game left me a sour taste in my mouth... Our first Half was shocking to say the least. THe second half was better but against a 9 men team (yes tevez played half the game with an injury and I believe this is the main reason he was transparent), and if we consider we're title challengers, we should've killed this game far earlier. If we watch the succession of events today, everything was going our way and we were the only ones making it hard for ourselves!
Djourou, in the first half....   Clichy can be at fault for many things, but he's not responsible for Djourou being clumsy and god damn slow!!! Djourou's performance today was Silvestre-like! The guy is nothing more than a big accident waiting to happen! THe less I see him play this season the better...
Arshavin was his usual self, lazy as fuck! We know what he's capable of which makes it even less forgivable.
Nasri is growing in stature this season. Let's hope he can keep this good form. His body language suggests he's in a very good shape physically.
Flappy...   what happened to the lad??!! Looks like the "training fabiansky" has taken over the usual "Flappy-handski".

Overall, great win. But not as convincing as I expected a victory at man city would be...

I am going to allow Djourou a while to get back to form.
He was injured for almost a season, and in reality it took Nasri the rest of last season to recover from his leg break.

I think aswell the performance wasn't great, especially in 1st half, we should have killed the game earlier. But I'm so happy, we weren't used to win against "Big" teams recently, and to win 3-0 away from home, against the richest Football Club in the world is a result to be proud of.

Fair point on Djourou. However I don't think we can afford to let Djourou get match-fit. Chavs don't seem like they will drop many points this season... again... and our defense needs to maintain some confidence if we still want consider ourselves contenders. So far 10 goals conceded in 9 games is far too much! The clean sheet today is a blessing. Flappy has found some skills out of nowhere. Sagna, since comming back from his injury, seems like he's getting to his older self, solid. Squillaci just arrived in the PL but he's a quiet worker. Clichy looks like he's getting some sort of confidence, bottling it on less occasions. All of these players really need some confidence boost, and I can't wait for someone like Vermaelen or Kos to slot in the place of Djourou to provide some kind of "security feeling" for the back five (including Flappy).

So we played both Spurs and City, who are suppose to be better than us this season. Yet we have outscored them 7-1 with both games at there grounds. :barscarf:

Decided to take my kid to her first away game this season...i dont like taking her but its my turn for half term hols and i dont want to miss a game...so she had to attend.

Anyway was right by the seg line behind the goal, lower tier.

Second goal goes in....and seconds later nice full bottle is thrown from scum on the left of me...it whistles past me and smashes straight into my daughters chest (she is 11)

I knew it was not a good idea taking her....and in hindsight i should not have taken her.

She was really upset by this but despite tears decided she wasnt gonna let them bastards get to her and carried on with watching the game and celebrated the third goal hard and long ....

Its one of those things i guess, i suppose it was bound to happen but sometimes things leave a sour taste in the mouth.

After the game i was walking back to my car with four friends and my kid. Out of nowhere this MANC scum bag smacks my mate straight in the mouth before legging it....

once more my kid witnesses this....

fuck me i thought....this aint good

Now i have travelled all over and i know these things are not good and happen...im no mug and im not asking for any sympathy.....but now i have a petrified kid who wont go there again....which is fair enough...

my point is this....a club like Man City is supposedly a family club...YET i dont feel safe taking my kid to a game. Its not because she is a girl, she is a tough cookie, but i feel aggreived that my kid was hit....and i wasnt...i feel so guilty that she took the blow....

It was a great result but really is it necessary to act like *word censored*???
I noticed a sinister feel to proceedings today....three years back when we done them 3-1 (previous win) there was a bubbly, happy atmosphere......today i saw scum crawling out the woodwork who have become like the lid who finds a twenty pound note and doesnt know what to spend it on......Man City is a shit club and i wanna punch them all

Unfortunately Sammy it is nothing new.

For all the billions and the glamour, both Manc clubs have some really scum fans. Some blokes tried to start on me two years ago at Old Trafford, and a cousin of mine had trouble when City played at Maine Road.

Hope your little girl recovers and enjoys half term.

Sorry to hear about the trouble Sammy. That's how you know City is a small time club and always will be; obviously their fans can't handle being a successful team and dropping a game.

Hope the young girl is okay.

win 3-0 and the whining goes on

Djourou first game for eons hardly surprising he didnt look sharp but time will tell.
lCitehs main intentions in the first half hour was to bully our the lads.

Thought we did OK Nasri's on fire,Arshavin needs to be dropped and Bendtner look great for the few mins he was on the pitch !

Could have won by 10 but hey thats life.

More disturbing is mancs throwing bottles ,unfortunately with the zillions has come a raised expectations so bad behaviour when they lose is to be expected even if it is depressing.

I only ever fought with those who wanted it !

Sammy, very sorry to read about your woes yesterday and of course it truly is unacceptable. I could be way wrong on this but I have felt for some time now that a touch of hooliganism is bubbling just under the surface again and is about to return to football. I honestly cannot tell you what I am basing this on but it is just a gut feeling that I am getting. Maybe it is the current economic situation that has people feeling very frustrated and using football rivalries to vent their frustrations but throwing a bottle into a crowd containing many kids is absolutely dispicable and I hope that you report it and the *word censored* that did it gets banned from football for all time

Really sorry to hear that Sammy, hope this bad experience doesn't your daughter off footy. I hate to say it but I do kinda agree with Augie, there seems to be a lot more aggro coming into the game and indeed for the reasons that Augie mentioned. Spurs games in the early 2000s used to kick off at 3 and 4 but now they don't kick off later than 1:30 apart from midweek games. Certain rivalries have become more intense such as North London derby and Manchester derby due to the spuds and citeh catching up with us and United respectively but it's pathetic that people use football to cause trouble. Real scum of the earth they are and I hope that bottle thrower is caught and banned  :banghead:

What a brave man to throw a bottle, hitting a girl by accident I bet he stood up and told all his mates about it too. I hope he is caught the rat faced twat.

Hope your daughter gets over this quickly and no lasting damage.

Hey sammy, similar thing with me, my Dad decided to bring my little sister along to the game and this was to be her first match. I even raised the issue with him that it may not be a good idea,,,,,last couple of trips there have suggested to me they have a lot of *word censored* up there....besides there mancs - what do we expect? nasty bunch.

Fortunetly no such incidents occured in my sisters presence but very sorry to hear that wasn't the same for you and your daughter.

Another note is the police - i know its repeated over and over again but they caused many problems yesterday . Firstly the weatherspoons in the city centre - there was plenty of banter between us and barrow fans - everyone is happy....then suddenly a riot van pulls up and the situation feels hostile just by there very presence - then they decided to boot out all the gooners - and shut the pub till we went.!!!! Then on the concorse in the lower tier another bunch of coppers decide to just stand in the middle of where we are having a sing song and again a good atmopshere just becomes immediately sour by there forceful presence standing in the middle of us - why the fuck can they not just stand in the background out of the way? I even complained to one of the city managers of that area and he agreed and said he had not asked for them to come rolling in like that......although it was pretty hilarious to then see beer chucked over them.

scum fans and police apart though that was a fantastic day and watching again on match of the day how mental we went when songs goal went in was fantastic - bring on everton!
